The Logic of Laws

Updates for this book have been a little slow, and many readers may have forgotten the earlier settings, so let me explain two points about "Laws" here.

First question: Is the protagonist's first Law only effective on cultivators, and ineffective on ghosts?

Answer: It is effective on both humans and ghosts.

In Chapter 284 of Volume One, when Law Ghost introduced this Law to the protagonist, she explained that it only worked on humans and was ineffective against ghosts. Yet the protagonist discovered that the Painted Skin ghost Mu Xiangu was affected by this Law.

In the following plot, the protagonist relied on this Law and his fate with Mu Xiangu to break free from illusions time and again.

This was the foreshadowing that the protagonist's "Law" could affect female ghosts.

Then, in Chapter 54 of this volume, "The Law's Fate Threads," one of the Fate Threads was connected to Mu Xiangu, further making it clear that the protagonist's Law was effective on female ghosts.

Later, the female ghost Rouge Baleful Intent also became connected to the protagonist by a Fate Thread.

Then, in Chapter 57 of this volume, the protagonist finally confirmed that his Law was effective on female ghosts as well, and suspected that it might be because of the Life and Death Book.

At this point, the conclusion that the Law was effective on both humans and ghosts could already be established.

As for the deeper secret of why this Law was effective on female ghosts, it would be explained in the Six Sects Grand Competition arc.

Second question: Was the Law an active skill, or a passive skill?

Answer: Attracting other people's Dao companions was passive. Only connecting Fate Threads needed to be done actively.

In Chapter 283 of Volume One, Law Ghost's original explanation to
