Kasumigaoka initially viewed Yukino Yukinoshita as an unguarded interloper and love rival. She intended to retaliate with chili water in Yukino's shampoo and mustard in her toothpaste, but abandoned the prank after hesitating to exploit Yukino's trust. 11

At Toyogasaki Academy, she is publicly one of the school's two idols, its Literature Club ace, and a consistently top-ranked student. Privately, she writes under the name Utako Kasumi.
