Choice of Main Quest Module

Fang Mo actually had no idea.

Which mod the Return Scroll he'd drawn came from.

But that didn't matter, because he was now back in the embrace of the MC main world.

Looking at the square mossy cobblestone around him, the chests, and the zombie nearby that kept letting out low growls, Fang Mo felt an unprecedented sense of familiarity.

It was like a severely socially anxious 2D shut-in, who'd been dragged out for a whole day of high-intensity socializing, finally getting home—first wolfing down a bunch of greasy junk food, then collapsing onto the bed with the AC blasting, playing his favorite games in pure bliss.

"This feeling... it's way too good..."

After slashing the nearby zombie with a few strikes, Fang Mo almost couldn't help but let out a roar to the sky.

But he was still deep in an underground cave, and even if he looked up, he wouldn't see the sky, so for now, he had to get back to the surface first.

"Nothing's changed at all here... feels like time was frozen."

Fang Mo glanced around and found not a single difference—the Monster Spawner was still suppressed by torches, the Age Book lay on the ground, everything unchanged.

Of course, that was a game mechanic, the so-called chunk system. Once a player left, that chunk stopped updating. All the machines and mobs inside were in a state of time stop, unless the player used some mod to force-activate the chunk, like the World Anchor from the Railcraft mod.

"I never thought the Lost Cities Mod would let me cross over into the Marvel world..."

Seeing the Golden Book on the ground, Fang Mo couldn't help but sigh.

Yeah, he was starting to piece it all together now. The cover of the Age Book on the ground had a string of English printed on it, probably something like 'Marvel Comics'—so that was Marvel, right?

Shaking his head, Fang Mo had Steve pick up the Age Book from the ground, then headed straight back to the surface.

Logically speaking, Fang Mo had just finished his journey through the Marvel world and should take a break. But to him, the MC world was like a paradise. Controlling Steve to build and explore here felt like playing a game—not tiring at all, but actually quite relaxing.

So when Fang Mo returned to that shabby basement, he barely paused, stuffed a huge pile of stone pickaxes into Steve's backpack, and dove back into the mine.

He had no choice. After fighting the Abomination in the Marvel world and dealing with Obadiah and the Iron Monger, the durability on Steve's gear had dropped pretty fast.

Especially the Iron Sword and shield—they were almost broken. So he had to mine some ores to re-equip himself, or he wouldn't feel safe.

But to be fair, vanilla survival was way too easy for Fang Mo.

In less than half a day, Steve had dug up a ton of ores from underground.

Just coal alone, Steve had mined six or seven stacks. Iron Ore, two and a half stacks. Gold Ore, over a stack. A bunch of Lapis Lazuli and Redstone. Plus the copper, tin, aluminum, lead, and such from the IndustrialCraft and Tinkers' Construct mods.

He even found nearly half a stack of Diamonds.

Thankfully, when Fang Mo had drawn the Alchemical Bag from Equivalent Exchange back in Marvel, it saved him a ton of hassle. Otherwise, just the Cobblestone he'd mined would've taken Steve multiple trips back and forth. So the Alchemical Bag wasn't as useless as Fang Mo had thought.

After mining enough ores, Fang Mo waved his hand and had Steve craft over a dozen Furnaces. While smelting the ores, he also cooked the Cobblestone into stone, preparing materials for building a house later.

While Steve was busy smelting ores and crafting armor, Fang Mo's main body started thinking about the next development path.

After his short trip to the Marvel world, Fang Mo now had several new mods. The current list was: More Furniture, Tombstone, Moving Portals, The Lost Cities Mod, Pam's HarvestCraft, ExtraBiomesXL, JourneyMap, Avaritia, Chinese Language Pack, Tinkers' Construct, Mutant Creatures, and IndustrialCraft.

The first mods he abandoned were IndustrialCraft and Pam's HarvestCraft.

He'd already explained the reason for Pam's HarvestCraft before, and IndustrialCraft was similar. As a large tech mod, its crafting recipes were incredibly complex. Without an auxiliary mod to look up recipes, playing such a big tech mod was nearly impossible.

Forget about the Quantum Suit or Nano Sword inside.

Even a single Wood Battery Box would drive him insane.

Of course, mods like More Furniture, Tombstone, and Avaritia were also abandoned.

The reason was simple: More Furniture was mostly a decorative mod, not very useful. When you're fighting in the Marvel world, you can't rely on More Furniture, can you?

Pulling a chair out of the Alchemical Bag to hit someone?

Come on...

Did he think he was Jackie Chan in a furniture store?

As for the Tombstone mod... honestly, Fang Mo knew his last words had been turned into a modpack, and he was in Survival Mode now—dying would let him respawn at the spawn point. But would you really dare to test dying just once?

And as for Avaritia, Fang Mo actually wanted to play it, but that mod was way too resource-intensive.

Plus, its crafting recipes were like the underworld's own cooking—impossibly obscure. Without a way to look up recipes, it was unplayable.

So after discarding some mods, Fang Mo finally sorted out a rough development path in his mind.

First, he definitely wanted to play the Mutant Creatures mod.

After all, the Ender Hand was way too useful. Fang Mo figured he'd kill a few Mutant Ender Man Kings first, then bring those Ender Hands along next time he went to Marvel, to see if he could strengthen his Ender Field.

Of course, the drops from the Mutant Zombie King were pretty good too.

The Giant's Hammer and such... smashing it against Thor's Mjolnir seemed like it could be fun.

Besides Mutant Creatures, the mod Fang Mo was most interested in now was Tinkers' Construct.

This mod added a lot of powerful weapons and tools to the game, but that wasn't the most important part. The real deal was how easy it was to get into.

It was so thoughtful it even gave Fang Mo a Tinkers' Construct Smeltery guidebook.
