Feng Jun turned his head and glanced at the burly man, his face darkening. "What's going on here?"
"I don't know." The man spread his hands, wearing a perfectly measured look of surprise. "Wasn't this arranged by you?"
In truth, the shock and astonishment in his heart were beyond words. How had that little crossbow ended up in this guy's hands?
"Arranged by me?" Feng Jun gave a cold laugh and raised his hand, firing another bolt that pierced the uninvited guest's other thigh.
Amid the man's screams, he spoke blandly. "Scream again, and the next bolt goes through your third leg!"
At those words, the man immediately clamped his mouth shut, though his face kept twitching and contorting.
He was not trying to send any signal. Those two bolts simply hurt too much.
The little crossbow in Feng Jun's hand remained aimed between the man's legs. "I'll give you one chance... Who sent you?"
"I..." The man sucked in cold air as he bared his teeth in pain. "I was just here to take a dump in the wild... How was I supposed to know there were people here?"
The excuse made logical sense, but Feng Jun did not believe a word of it. There were hundreds of mu of ruins nearby; why come all the way here to take a wild dump? Besides, with three cars parked here, it was impossible not to see anything from outside.
So he grinned coldly. "Don't want to talk? Fine. Later, I'll take you somewhere and help you remember properly."
Seeing this, the woman exchanged a glance with the middle-aged man, and they were both caught in an awkward position.
This was precisely the probe they had arranged: they had sent one of their men to pretend to be an unrelated passerby
