Background

Qin Yu was an orphan adopted by the Ninth Elder of the Tian Qi Sect. Born with severed meridians, he could not retain spiritual energy or cultivate, but his extraordinary comprehension and photographic memory made him the youngest Librarian Pavilion Master in the sect’s history. 1 2

During his youth, Qin Yu trusted his senior brother Lin Yu, who cared for him while the Ninth Elder was in seclusion. Lin Yu took Qin Yu’s jade pendant and repeatedly collected his blood before betraying the Tian Qi Sect. Qin Yu was afflicted with Nether Nirvana, the Immortal Martial World’s foremost poison, and spent six years deteriorating from a young man into a dying elder. 2

Lin Yu later became the Great Demon who destroyed Tian Qi Sect. The Blood Emperor reconstructed fragments of the ruined world and established the Ancient Star Sect, after which the Immortal Martial World became known as the Star Realm. 1

After dying from the poison, Qin Yu reincarnated as the fifteen-year-old third son of Qin Zhan in the Wu Kingdom’s Qin Family. Unlike his former body, this body possessed complete meridians, though they were impure and its innate roots were mediocre. 1 2

Qin Yu also recognized his adoptive sister Qin Xue as the reincarnation of Xue'er, a cherished person from his former life who had become the Blood Emperor. His determination to cultivate is driven by his desire to protect Qin Xue, uncover the circumstances of his rebirth, and one day settle his debt with Lin Yu. 2

Following his first cultivation breakthrough, Qin Yu’s appearance changed markedly from the unremarkable and sickly Third Young Master known within the Qin Family. 3

Qin Yu is composed, calculating, and difficult to intimidate. His former role as the Tian Qi Sect’s Librarian Pavilion Master gave him immense knowledge, while six years of poisoning and decline hardened his state of mind. He remains calm before cultivators far stronger than himself, including Zi Xun'er and Cui Shuo. 4 12 16

He is intensely protective of Qin Xue, Xiao Tao, and Xiao Hua. Threats against them can override his restraint, revealing a ruthless side: he fought Cui Shuo despite their realm difference and broke Qin Feng and Qin Yong’s limbs after their abuse of his household. 8 15 17

Despite his severity, Qin Yu values potential and loyalty. He gives Long Yu the Heaven-level Nine-Five Prosperous Fortune Art after recognizing her ambition, trains with Xiong Tatian as an equal, and deliberately provokes Li Tianji to temper the latter’s arrogance. 22 26 29

Qin Yu defeats Qin Feng and Qin Yong after they assault Xiao Tao, Xiao Hua, and Qin Xue. When Cui Shuo attacks Qin Xue, Qin Yu activates the Mad Demon First Transformation and forces the Gangqi Realm cultivator back. 8 17

Qin Zhan’s subsequent humiliation before the Cui residence leads Qin Yu to reassess his father. Qin Yu then prepares for the scheduled fight to the death with Cui Shuo by seeking greater cultivation, Blood Essence, and mastery of the Myriad Heavens Battle Art. 18 21

Land of Beast Burial

Qin Yu enters the Land of Beast Burial to seek fierce-beast blood and temper himself. He befriends Xiong Tatian and Li Tianji, uses Xiong Tatian’s unknown Blood Essence to strengthen his physique, and advances through the seventh and eighth levels of the Martial Realm. 24 31

While separated from his companions, Qin Yu uses a wolf cub to negotiate with the Green Wolf King and withstand Ling Yao’s pursuit. His search for information about Zou Xueqing ultimately draws him into the forbidden area marked “Suppressing Ancient Demon.” 33 40

Lightning Awakening and Return

After the forbidden-area incident, Qin Yu awakens at the Ninth Level of the Martial Realm with an enlarged dantian, a transformed Nirvana Seed, and the Mysterious Lightning Body. He returns to the Qin Family, reunites with Qin Xue, and enters seclusion until breaking through to the Gangqi Realm. 41 43 48
