Background

Yu Xiaogang was born into the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan as the son of Yu Yuanzhen. His awakening of the Pig Beast martial soul left him ashamed and determined to prove that a martial soul did not decide a soul master's worth. He left the sect to pursue research, but lacked access to the books and materials he needed. His relationship with Liu Erlong—later revealed to be his cousin—became another defining humiliation, prompting him to hide in an obscure Heaven Dou Empire city and live in despair. 14 25

After receiving access to the Network World, Yu Xiaogang purchased material from the Network Library and compiled Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul. Nan Xuan deliberately throttled the work's network visibility, preventing it from becoming widely known. In contrast, Yu Xiaogang's personal memoir unexpectedly became a popular romance novel, titled The Night Before the Wedding, I Discovered My Wife Is Actually My Own Cousin. 25 26 35

Yu Xiaogang is deeply driven by humiliation, recognition, and the need to prove his maxim that there are no useless martial souls—only useless soul masters.
