Background / History

Dai Mubai was a Shrek Academy student before Mu Junyu joined the faculty. Initially contemptuous of the much younger Soul King, Dai nevertheless became the subject of Mu Junyu's demonstration of the Symbiosis cultivation method; the method subsequently accelerated his cultivation and increased his dedication to training. 123 124

His connection to Zhu Zhuqing stems from the longstanding marital ties between the Star Luo imperial family and the Zhu family. Their expected Martial Soul Fusion, Hell White Tiger, was considered a key advantage for Shrek's team battles. 151

Personality

Dai is initially proud, disdainful, and quick to act from anger. Humiliation by the twin sisters in Suotuo City and Zhu Zhuqing's cold rejection worsen his frustration, leading him to provoke Tang San and Xiao Wu during Shrek's entrance testing. 125 126

He later shows guilt and regret when attempting to apologize to Zhu Zhuqing, but her rejection leaves him increasingly despairing. Mu Junyu's Symbiosis method greatly improves Dai's cultivation speed, but Dai's reduced prowess soon results in public humiliation by twin sisters in Suotuo City. His anger then contributes to his confrontation with Tang San and Xiao Wu during the Shrek entrance tests. 124 125 126

During Shrek's team battles, Dai attempts to use Hell White Tiger with Zhu Zhuqing, but her disdain causes the fusion to fail. Despite his personal collapse, his explosive power helps Shrek narrowly defeat the Imperial Dou Team. 151 152 156

Departure and Revenge

Dai attempts unsuccessfully to apologize to Zhu Zhuqing before their conflict worsens. He eventually leaves Shrek Academy, driven by jealousy and rage toward Zhu Zhuqing and Mu Junyu. 136 223

Dai is terrified while witnessing Mu Junyu's overwhelming battle against Beauvoir and the centipede monster. 277

After their final attack devastates the Death Sect, Dai survives briefly with fatal wounds.
