Background / History

Born into the Star Luo Empire's Zhu Clan, Zhu Zhuqing was raised to be Dai Mubai's betrothed partner in the imperial succession struggle. Her family and surroundings impressed upon her that she and Dai Mubai were destined to share life and death, but she grew disgusted by his public philandering and saw it as a betrayal of their engagement. She never sought supremacy over her elder sister Zhu Zhuyun; her goal was simply to survive the lethal competition imposed upon her. 93

After Dai Mubai fled Star Luo, Zhu Zhuqing's remaining hope collapsed. Zhu Zhuyun and Dai Weisi treated her as a threat to be contained, while Zhu Zhuqing withdrew into despair and isolation. 94 She later entered Fan Tower, where she met Mu Junyu and experienced an accidental Martial Soul Fusion with him. 95 96

Mu Junyu offered her a purple bracelet capable of evolving her martial soul, at the price of permanently severing her compatibility with Dai Mubai. When Zhu Zhuyun tortured Xiaoying and sent Zhu Zhuqing her severed hand, Zhu Zhuqing confronted her sister in fury.
