History
Initial promotion
Originally assigned as Class 1-B, the class receives an early advantage when Dokuho reveals the school’s hidden rules, including the aptitude assessment, class-point system, and the possibility of purchasing a transfer with 20 million private points. His information allows the class to avoid the approximately 200-point opening deficit expected of Class B. 11 12
The class finishes its first month with 980 class points, exceeding the original Class A’s 940 and taking the Class A designation. 32 Dokuho’s accumulation of more than 20 million private points and his role in reducing Class D to zero points become central to the audience’s perception of the newly promoted class. 34
Midterm and island-exam period
When several Class D students face expulsion after failing midterms, Honami Ichinose proposes using Class A’s funds to help them. Dokuho opposes spending class funds, though he does not object to individual assistance; the class votes to prioritize its own interests. 54 55 56
During the Uninhabited Island Exam, Class A relies on scouting teams and attempts to protect its leader’s identity. Dokuho obtains information on rival leaders but withholds it rather than exposing his own class’s leader. 78 81 85 He also contracts with most of Class D: in exchange for leader information, they pay him 9,000 private points each month. 83 86
Paper Shuffle and later exams
For the Paper Shuffle Exam, Dokuho uses Yi Yan Ding Zhen to identify Targets in advance. He proposes that Class A remain silent and avoid answers, preventing opponents from learning its Targets while preserving class points. Honami and Kanzaki support the strategy. 93
Class A then chooses to challenge Class B rather than the academically weaker Class C. The gamble succeeds: Class A defeats Class B directly and rises from 1,220 to 1,320 class points. 106 108
The class subsequently loses 180 class points in the Mixed Training Camp after Dokuho declines to formulate a strategy, allowing the other three classes to target it together. 109
In the Selection Exam, Class A faces Class D. Although Honami initially volunteers as commander due to her Protection Point, Dokuho reveals that Kohei Hayakawa is the actual commander. Class A wins the confrontation by a 6–1 score. 120 121 122
Organization

| Honami Ichinose | Class representative; advocates helping Class D and supports Dokuho’s Paper Shuffle strategy. 54 93 |
| Ryuji Kanzaki | Class deputy and a major strategic voice; initially challenges Dokuho’s individualism but later recognizes his judgment. 11 93 |
| Dokuho Kouya | Principal strategist in several special exams; leads the class’s Paper Shuffle decision-making and pursues high-risk point-gathering plans. 106 126 |
| Kohei Hayakawa | Actual Class A commander for the Selection Exam. 121 |
| Sayo Ando | Classmate closely associated with Dokuho; provides him information on Class A’s point gap with Class B. 3 106 |

Interclass Relations
- Class D — Initially treated as an unreliable partner when its students fail midterms; later becomes both Dokuho’s contract partner during the island exam and Class A’s Selection Exam opponent. 55 83 122
- Class B / Sakayanagi’s class — A principal rival. Class A deliberately challenges it in the Paper Shuffle Exam and wins, gaining 100 class points. 106 108
- Chie Hoshinomiya — Homeroom teacher who supports and pressures the class competitively, including recommending an attack on Class C during the Paper Shuffle Exam. Dokuho rejects her preferred target. 3 106
Resources
- 20 million private-point reserve — Collected early enough to spare Class A from expelling a student during the Class Vote Exam. 120
- Hitchhike Card network — In a later exam, Class 2-A acquires usage rights to 62 cards and directs their holders toward Dokuho’s group, receiving 12 million private points as a service fee. 128
- Dokuho’s Target intelligence — His appraisal ability identifies Paper Shuffle Targets, enabling the class’s defensive no-discussion strategy. 58 93
