Background / History
Class B initially consisted of Aragaki Shun, Ichinose Honami, Kanzaki Ryūji, and their classmates. It was characterized as a cooperative class without troublemakers; Ichinose organized introductions on their first day, establishing an orderly and approachable atmosphere. 1
Under Shun's emerging leadership, the class committed itself to graduating as Class A rather than spending its class points supporting lower-ranked students. Shun and Kanzaki publicly promised to take responsibility should the class fail, strengthening the students' collective resolve. 9 Shun subsequently formalized his authority by introducing class regulations, including penalties for harming class interests and expulsion for repeat offenders. The rules were notarized by the school for 100,000 Private Points. 21 23
The class prioritized academic development as well as competition. Shun arranged paid tutoring for its lowest-performing students, though Ichinose advocated conserving funds and using peer tutoring where possible. 23 Its efforts succeeded: Class B reached first place with 1,060 Class Points, ahead of Class A's 850, and its classroom designation was changed to First-Year Class A. The school acknowledged that the original class assignment had been mistaken and awarded the class 100 additional points. 29
Following that promotion, the Class B designation was held by the former Class A. Its leadership initially included Katsuragi Kōhei and Sakayanagi Arisu, whose faction later came into conflict with Aragaki's Class A over rumor letters. Most of Class B cooperated with the Student Council, while the Sakayanagi Faction resisted. 30 66

Class Policies and Resources

- Private Point constraints — The class faced serious financial pressure and agreed to place last in the Sports Festival in return for 10 million Private Points from Nagumo Miyabi. 178
- Monthly payment to Aragaki — During the Mixed Training Camp, Class B accepted an increase in its monthly transfer to Aragaki from 3.4 million to 3.8 million Private Points to avoid an immediate 200-point deduction. 233
- Outside communication event — Kōenji permitted each Class 1-B student to spend 20,000 Private Points on Aragaki's winter-break welfare activity despite the class's financial difficulties. 226
Story Role / Major Arcs
Rise of the Original Class B
The original Class B united behind Aragaki's leadership, adopted strict internal rules, invested in tutoring, and overtook Class A in Class Points. Its promotion redefined it as First-Year Class A. 9 21 23 29
Reorganized Class B
The former Class A, now designated Class B, struggled with internal factionalism and pressure from Aragaki's dominant Class A. Katsuragi eventually yielded leadership to Kōenji, who used personal influence and employment guarantees to hold the class together. 66 123
Resistance to Aragaki's Expansion
Class B became the primary remaining opposition to Aragaki's control. Kōenji, Ayanokōji, Katsuragi, and Ryūen refused Aragaki's offers to surrender or transfer to Class A, despite his continued poaching of their members. 176 249
Selection Exam
After losing numerous core members, Class B retained Katsuragi, Kōenji, Ayanokōji, and Ryūen as its major competitive assets. Katsuragi volunteered to serve as commander for the Selection Exam, while Kōenji urged the class to select events in which Aragaki could not participate. Class A subsequently selected Class B as its opponent. 260 261
