Hanzo: This Fight Is Impossible

"Those eyes again..."

Through the billowing smoke, Hanzo stared into Pain's profound eyes. He would never forget the terrifying power those eyes had once displayed.

Dozens of Rain ninja and Root ninja had lasted only a second before those eyes.

That enormous, oppressive statue still remained vividly etched in his mind.

"I remember personally killing you back then..."

Hanzo looked at Pain before him. That naive brat named Yahiko should have been dead. Why was he standing here now, possessing the Rinnegan that had belonged only to that red-haired brat?

Facing the enemy who had personally buried countless of his friends, Pain's voice was as cold as a demon from hell.

"That naive brat truly died long ago. The one standing before you now is merely an avenger who wishes to make this world feel pain."

"Heh... an avenger?"

Hanzo slowly emerged from the shattered building, raising the scythe in his hand toward his enemy. He said coldly, "Since I was able to kill your naive companions back then, I can still send you to join them now."

"Is that so..."

Pain floated in midair, staring down at Hanzo indifferently.

"If you were truly as brave as you claim, you would not have abandoned all your subordinates and fled like a defeated dog back then. Nor would you have grovelled before Konoha to curry favor."

"You are old. You have already lost the courage you once possessed as a demigod."

Those words instantly stirred certain memories within Hanzo. His expression turned savage and twisted. "Shut up! Shut up! I am a demigod! I am Hanzo of the Salamander, the demigod feared across the battlefield!"

Pain merely gave a disdainful, expressionless scoff. "Then let me wake you from your empty dream."

With that, the enormous summoned beasts charged Hanzo at once.
