The Further Evolution of Quinque

Three days later, a tremendous boom rang out from the research institute where Fang Zhu was stationed.

Inside the institute, Arima gripped his Quinque tightly with both hands. The Quinque, which had originally resembled a knight's lance, had opened at its tip like a flower. Threads of electric arcs flickered continuously within the black hollow at its center.

The wall directly in front of the lance had been blasted open, and countless fragments of stone scattered across the ground still crackled with tiny electric arcs.

Arima stared at the scene in disbelief.

He had never expected that in just three days, Dr. Fang Zhu would truly develop a way to combine Quinque with Chakra—and that he himself would successfully unleash it.

For all this time, Arima had held a misconception.

He had only regarded the Quinque as a weapon.

With that mindset, the only way he could think of to raise the Quinque's limits was to incorporate ninjutsu.

For example, like how ninjas used ninja tools, he could use ninjutsu to increase the power of the Quinque's attacks.

But through Dr. Fang Zhu's experiment this time, he finally understood the true nature of a Quinque.

A Quinque was part of his body!

A Quinque was created by having a Ghoul's Kakuhou inhabit a portion of a human body. After undergoing a certain degree of intervention, it would independently form into a special weapon capable of resonating with its host.

Arima's Quinque had been formed by chance when his own arm was inhabited by a Kakuhou.

The other Quinque had been improved by Dr. Fang Zhu. A certain number of cells could be extracted from the host and cultivated, then the Kakuhou could inhabit that cultivated body part. After being altered through secret techniques, it could be formed into a Quinque.
