|---|---|
| Name | A |
| Alias(es) | Fourth Raikage; Raikage |
| Gender | Male |
| Affiliation | Kumogakure |
| Occupation/Role | Fourth Raikage; leader of Kumogakure |
Background
A succeeded the Third Raikage, his father, during the aftermath of the Third Shinobi World War. When Guo Wang's Vacuum Infinite Sword gravely wounded the Third Raikage, A abandoned the battle rather than risk his father's life and ordered Kumogakure's retreat. The Third Raikage later died after being ambushed by Iwagakure, leaving A to protect Kumogakure amid worsening war conditions 25 101 104.
As Raikage, A sought to restore Kumogakure's standing through military strength and the Chunin Exams. He expected Kumogakure's Thundercloud Team to take the top three positions, but their elimination and Killer B's defeat frustrated him greatly 184 215.
Despite his hostility toward Konoha, A joined the Alliance Cooperation Treaty with Konoha and Sunagakure. Guo Wang's offer of Sage Arts instruction especially caught his attention, as he recognized Sage Mode as an inheritable path to Kage-level power 215 216.
Appearance
A is a tall, heavily muscled man with bronze skin. He is frequently bare-chested while training or fighting and wears a white Raikage cloak and yellow conical hat in formal settings.
- Blazing white lightning surrounds him when he activates Lightning Release Chakra Mode.
- His hair stands upright while he channels high-output chakra.
- He trains with heavy black dumbbells.
- He wears heavy metal wristbands during combat 184 259 306.
Personality
A is aggressive, proud, and highly competitive, particularly when Kumogakure's prestige or his personal speed is challenged. He is quick to anger and readily resorts to force, but he is not thoughtless: he listens to Dodai and Kumogakure's elders when making decisions with long-term consequences 216 342.
He values strength above all else and measures both himself and his village by their capacity to produce powerful shinobi. Nevertheless, he accepts responsibility as a leader. After losing to Guo Wang in their border confrontation, he tore off his own right arm as compensation for his subordinates' actions rather than permit them to bear the punishment 307.
A is deeply protective of Kumogakure and his family. He prioritized the Third Raikage's survival over battlefield advantage, safeguarded Killer B after the Third Raikage's death, and later pursued Yugito's kidnappers despite Guo Wang's objections 25 104 361.
