Shin'ō Academy.

Ever since Shin'ō Academy was founded, its curriculum had been remarkably sparse.

It consisted mostly of general knowledge classes and the Four Shinigami Arts—Zankensoki—which essentially encompassed all the courses the academy offered.

The later additions, like flower arrangement or calligraphy, had little to do with combat.

But today, Shin'ō Academy was buzzing with excitement.

Because today, a brand-new course was being launched.

Swordsmanship Class.

This course was established by the current captain of the Third Division and Shin'ō Academy's former prodigy, Nara Dan.

Word had it that Head Captain Yamamoto had specifically requested Nara Dan to set it up.

Right now, the largest classroom in Shin'ō Academy was packed with students.

Even the hallways and windows were crowded with onlookers.

Their purpose was all the same: to attend this legendary Swordsmanship Open Class.

To witness a combat system said to transcend the Shinigami's Zankensoki, standing completely independent of the Four Shinigami Arts.

"I heard Captain Nara is one of the very few captains who can't release at all."

"Yeah, I heard Captain Nara can't use Shikai or Bankai—he doesn't even have a Zanpakutō."

"He's always wielded an Asauchi; the blade of his Zanpakutō hasn't even evolved!"

"But Captain Nara still beat Gin Ichimaru with swordsmanship back when Gin could already use Bankai."

"And he has the ability to defeat Eleventh Division Captain Kenpachi in a single blow."

"So the secret to Captain Nara's power is all in this swordsmanship?"

"That's right. It's a power system even Head Captain Yamamoto personally endorses."

"I heard that if you master it, it's no less than the power of a Zanpakutō's myriad worlds."

"Really? Then I can't wait to see it."

Just as the crowd below was buzzing with chatter.

Nara Dan's figure quietly stepped into the room.

Only then did everyone
