Iruka's Decision

"Sensei!"

One day, Iruka suddenly came knocking.

After becoming a Chunin and completing his first C-Rank escort mission under Houka's supervision, Iruka began taking Sato and Akimichi Teito around to grind missions for money.

But after more than a year, Iruka gradually realized his limits.

Chunin really was his limit. He could feel that no matter how hard he trained, he would never become a Jonin—no, he could not even become a Special Jonin!

So, he made a decision.

"I want to become a teacher!" Iruka said resolutely as he looked at Houka.

Houka raised a brow and glared at him fiercely. "You brat, are you trying to rebel?!"

"No, no, no, Sensei, that's not what I meant. I mean I want to become a teacher at the Ninja Academy," Iruka said aggrievedly.

"Oh, that kind of teacher." Houka blinked twice before he caught on. Right, in another half year or so, little Naruto, Erzuozi, and the other nine rookies would be entering the Ninja Academy. If Iruka wasn't there...

Houka hurriedly nodded. "Iruka, that's a good decision. A very good one! I'll write you a letter right now and get you into the Academy as a teacher!"

"Really? Sensei, you support me?" Iruka was overjoyed.

He had told Akimichi Teito and Sato about his decision before, but unfortunately, neither of them supported him.

After all, Iruka was the only Chunin in their three-man team. If he went off to become a teacher, the two of them would only be able to keep grinding D-Rank missions. How could they possibly support him under those circumstances?

"Of course. Iruka, I've always believed that being a teacher is the most honorable and greatest profession in the world. So don't hesitate. Go for it boldly—I'll support you with everything I have!" Houka encouraged
