Konoha, Land of Fire.
An elderly woman and a pretty young girl with long golden hair walked through a dense forest.
The girl carried a fan on her back, looking around as she walked, clearly fascinated by the surrounding trees.
"Granny Chiyo, could we transplant these trees into the village? Then we wouldn't have to deal with so many sandstorms."
The girl spoke with longing.
"That would be impossible, unless that man came back to life." Chiyo spoke slowly, her voice hoarse and carrying an eerie metallic scrape that, upon closer listening, hardly sounded human.
During the Battle of Kikyo Pass, Chiyo had been beaten to the brink of death by Houka's Susanoo incarnation. After the Sunagakure Ninja brought her back, she remained in a deep coma for years, lying in bed like a vegetable. In the end, unable to bear seeing his sister spend the rest of her life neither alive nor dead, Ebizo boldly used a forbidden technique to turn Chiyo into a puppet!
After Chiyo awoke, she truly could not accept the fact that she had become a puppet for a time. Fortunately, her hatred for Houka, her attachment to the village, and her love for her grandson Sasori allowed her to endure.
Over the following years, after adapting to her puppet body, Chiyo began actively modifying herself. More than a decade had passed, and she had gradually replaced her flesh, blood, and organs with puppet components. In a sense, there was now little difference between Chiyo and her grandson, Sasori of the Red Sands.
Countless times, Chiyo had wanted to go to Konoha and take revenge on Houka. But at the time, Sunagakure and Konoha had formed an alliance. Killing Houka would undoubtedly provoke hostility between the two hidden villages, and might even start another war
