Organization

The Black Dragon Gang is one of the three forces that divide Three Rivers County’s territory, alongside Iron Fist Martial Hall and the Green Garment Gang. Its leader, Du Guangling, is a Bone Refining Realm martial artist, placing the gang among the county’s most feared powers 13 28.

Gang members are recognizable by their black clothing. The organization fields numerous martial artists, maintains protectors beneath its leader, and uses violence and intimidation to secure money and territory 45 84.

Known Leadership

History

The Black Dragon Gang was already established as one of Three Rivers County’s three great powers. Alongside the Green Garment Gang, it controlled territory outside the county seat, while Iron Fist Martial Hall held influence within the city 13.

Its conflict with the Green Garment Gang escalated into repeated clashes, with dozens of casualties reported on both sides. The gang’s need for resources during this struggle contributed to its extortion of local businesses 26 28.

Cai Long arrived at Hanging Pot Medical Hall and demanded a monthly protection fee of three hundred taels. After injuring guard captain Zhan Chaoyang and threatening that physicians would die daily if payment was refused, he forced Han Zhengming to comply 28. The monthly demand later increased from five hundred taels to eight hundred taels 84.

During the conflict with the Green Garment Gang, Du Chong used intelligence from the traitor Qin Wu to ambush Green Garment Gang Young Leader Cao Lin in Stone Ox Town. Du Chong’s party outnumbered Cao Lin’s men and captured him, but Shen Han intervened after Du Chong had previously wounded Feng Hao with a poisoned arrow 45 46. Shen Han severed Du Chong’s arm and executed him, destroying the gang’s immediate victory 47 48.

Following Du Chong’s death, Du Guangling ordered Cai Long and Ding Dian to identify the mysterious “Ugly Man” responsible. The gang suspected possible involvement by Iron Fist Martial Hall but found no evidence connecting the masked killer to it 50.

After learning that Mr. Ugly Face had killed Moon Worship Cult deputy incense masters, Du Guangling suspended the search for Du Chong’s killer. He instead ordered an internal purge of Moon Worship Cult moles and accelerated the gang’s plan to eliminate the Green Garment Gang 94.

The Black Dragon Gang later launched a full assault on Stone Ox Mountain. With traitors operating inside the Green Garment Gang, Du Guangling’s forces overwhelmed their rivals, killed Gang Leader Cao Ziping and Deputy Gang Leader Li Shan, and wiped out the Green Garment Gang’s senior fighters 107.

Li Yuncui, Li Shan’s daughter and the apparent survivor of the Green Garment Gang, was subsequently hunted by Ding Dian and Black Dragon Gang members. Ding Dian recognized Shen Han as Du Chong’s killer and attacked him, but Shen Han killed the protector in a single exchange. Shen Han and Li Yuncui then killed the pursuing gang members 110 111.

• Protection-fee extortion — The gang imposes escalating monthly payments on businesses, using threats and violent demonstrations to compel compliance 28 84.
• Territorial warfare — It fought the Green Garment Gang for control outside Three Rivers County’s seat before launching the decisive assault on Stone Ox Mountain 26 94 107.
• Assassination and ambush — Du Chong casually shot Feng Hao with a poisoned arrow, while the gang used traitor-provided intelligence to ambush Cao Lin 45 46.
• Internal purges — Du Guangling ordered investigations to uncover Moon Worship Cult agents within the gang 94.
• Ruthless pursuit of enemies — Ding Dian’s party pursued Li Yuncui after the Green Garment Gang’s destruction and intended to capture her for the gang members’ abuse before killing her 109 110.

• Although Du Guangling temporarily ordered his men to stop hunting Mr. Ugly Face, Ding Dian immediately pursued vengeance when Shen Han was recognized by one of Du Chong’s surviving subordinates 94 110.
