Background / History

As a child in Jianye City, Ning Ye was already renowned for exceptional intellect, blunt logic, and an ability to provoke powerful adults by exposing their flaws. He rejected recruitment by Soaring Cloud Cave, claiming that stronger cultivators had already failed to take him as a disciple, and received protection from Immortal Tianji. 646

He entered the Heavenly Mechanism Sect under the name Bai Yu. Sect Master Xin Ranzi immediately recognized that Bai Yu was not his real name and identified the damaged Thousand Mechanism Hall concealed within him. Ning Ye later disclosed that his true name was Ning Ye, that he was not from their world, and that the Thousand Mechanism Hall had brought him there. 1 5

When the Heavenly Mechanism Sect was attacked by three great sects, Ning Ye carried out Xin Ranzi's final order to escape with Qing Lin and Xin Xiaoye through a secret teleportation formation. He revealed that he and Xin Ranzi had foreseen an approaching crisis, though not its nature. The sect's destruction hardened his resolve for revenge and restoration. 5 6

Ning Ye infiltrated the Black and White Divine Palace with a fabricated ordinary background, becoming Zhang Liekuang's disciple. His long-term objective was to overturn the palace responsible for the Heavenly Mechanism Sect's fall, recover the Thousand Mechanism Hall fragments, and rebuild his former sect. 11 16
