• Dawn White Lotus — A Divine Palace artifact that could raise its holder's effective cultivation by one realm regardless of their original rank. It was restricted to loans rather than permanent bestowal, then shattered during the Impermanence Ruins battle 112 508.
• Dusk Black Lotus — The counterpart to the Dawn White Lotus. It vanished more than a century earlier alongside He Yao, later becoming central to suspicions surrounding Yue Xinchans 508 509.
• Primal Pole Divine Light — A light-based divine treasure refined through the lifelong effort of an early Divine Palace great power. It possesses innate Light Dao principles, can shift form and flee as light, and was offered in exchange for the Yin-Yang Cosmos Umbrella 156.

Background / History

The Black and White Divine Palace is one of the Nine Great Immortal Sects and was regarded as arguably the strongest among them when it joined the extermination of the Heavenly Mechanism Sect 4. It later publicly admitted responsibility for that sect's destruction 134.

Its enmity with the Wood Puppet Sect spans at least two thousand years. During an earlier immortal-world war, the Wood Puppet Sect was defeated and East Wind Pass passed into Black and White Divine Palace control 191. Despite repeated local clashes, both factions initially avoided openly seizing territory because doing so risked escalating their conflict into a full-scale sect war 191 192.

The sect's authority rests on a combination of elite cultivators, dualistic cultivation arts, intelligence networks, and formation control. Its apparent strength, however, is repeatedly undermined by internal factionalism, infiltration, and the schemes of Ning Ye, who first enters its orbit while concealing his connection to the destroyed Heavenly Mechanism Sect 91 134.

• Impermanence Ruins trap — The Divine Palace uses the Realm-Breaking Stele, the Black and White Chess Array, and the relocated Star Divination Divine Mechanism Formation to lure the Wood Puppet Sect and treasure-seeking cultivators into an ambush 105 107. Yue Xinchans deploys the Black and White World to control the battlefield, but Yuan Muye uses the Dawn White Lotus and a spatial array to break the formation and transfer away part of the Divine Palace's force 110 112.

• Internal suspicion and the Heavenly Origin Hall disaster — The Wood Puppet Sect destroys Heavenly Origin Hall and ambushes Yue Xinchans and Xifengzi, severely wounding both. Yue Xinchans is struck by Yuan Muye's Killingless Curse and enters seclusion 144.

• Demon Abyss Rift crisis — When a rift opens at Accumulated Fall Mountain, the Divine Palace traps and destroys a Heavenly Net Evil Rakshasa through the Black and White Grand Formation and Dragon-Severing Platform 297. Jun Buluo later activates the formation against Jing Changye's sabotage and calls on the Sky-Rending Heavenly Demon for aid 300.

• Cold Extreme Mountain campaign — The sect constructs a fake secret realm to deceive the Haotian Sect into helping forge Gilded Shuttles for a future expedition toward Misty Rain Pavilion 443. It then converts Cold Extreme Mountain into a slaughter trap intended to eliminate rival sects' elites 444.

• Yue Xinchans's exposure — Chi Wanning publicly connects Yue Xinchans to a series of disasters within the sect and raises the disappearance of the Dusk Black Lotus and He Yao as evidence 508. Yue Xinchans admits killing He Yao during a cultivation deviation but denies betraying the Divine Palace 509. Ning Ye subsequently places him under control through Tethering Mechanism Ants and uses him to absorb blame for earlier attacks against the sect 522.

• Ning Ye's ascent — Ning Ye proposes becoming Headmaster while offering the Eastern Territory to the Wood Puppet Sect in exchange for support 532. Following Yue Xinchans's resignation, he is considered for Grand Hall Master and ultimately holds that office during the later negotiations with the Wood Puppet Sect 533 588.
