Chi Wanning was celebrated as the Black and White Divine Palace's foremost beauty and a gifted cultivator with a Water Spirit Body, allowing exceptionally rapid progress in water-based arts. As Ancestor Qingmu's disciple, she spent her leisure time at Drunken Fragrance Pavilion playing music, watching fish, admiring the moon, and practicing sword dances among the flowers. Behind that public identity, Chi Wanning was a Misty Rain Pavilion operative. Misty Rain Pavilion forced the Three Corpses Pill upon her, held a family member hostage, and used her to control Ancestor Qingmu. She later learned that Qingmu himself intended to refine her Water Spirit Body to enter the Nirvana Realm, leaving her desperate to find a way to survive. 53

Ning Ye exposed that situation to her while concealing his identity.
