Origin and ecology

Chaos Beasts originated naturally when the universe was in its initial state. Each type is associated with a fundamental Law, making them valuable but dangerous opponents for cultivators seeking real combat experience. 121

When killed, their bodies decay into chaos energy and leave behind jade-green Chaos True Spirits. Absorbing these True Spirits improves a cultivator's soul compatibility with the universe. 121

• Chaos Beasts inhabit the Chaos Wilderness outside Chaos City, including regions populated by Cosmic Level and Domain Lord-level specimens. 121 122
• They are generally low in intelligence but often act in groups, instinctively joining hunts once one of their kind identifies prey. 122
• Some species can sense nearby members of their kind, allowing reinforcements to gather rapidly after a group is attacked. 121
• Large herds can overwhelm even teams of geniuses; a group of twenty-one hunters was injured while defeating fifty-seven Domain Lord-level Chaos Beasts. 123

Appearance

Chaos Beasts do not have a single uniform form. Their bodies vary drastically between species, often displaying physical traits connected to their Law affinity.

• Humanoid type — Resembles a human but has abnormally long forearms covered in crimson, steel-needle-like hairs; more than thirty eighth- and ninth-level Cosmic specimens emerged from starry ruins. 122
• Spiral-faced type — Has thin limbs, an extremely swollen abdomen, spiral facial features, and thorny red fangs. 121
• Lion-scorpion type — Possesses a lion-like head and a huge scorpion-like tail; these creatures can spew flames containing the Law of Fire. 121
• Ape-like type — Uses long fists covered in crystalline blocks formed from the Law of Earth. 122
• Winged lizard type — Gigantic lizard-like beasts with two pairs of wings; thirteen specimens encountered by Fang Yi ranged from the first to third Domain Lord level. 122
• Mollusk type — Dwells inside meteorite cavities, protected by exceptionally sturdy shells and able to exert spatial power. 123
• Bat-like type — Emits unusual sound waves capable of drawing other Chaos Beasts into a massive horde. 124

Law affinity

Each Chaos Beast species specializes in a fundamental Law, which is reflected in its attacks and physiology. 121

• Some early Cosmic Level specimens moved with thunder and lightning around their bodies. 121
• Lion-scorpion Chaos Beasts expelled fire attacks containing the Law of Fire. 121
• Ape-like Chaos Beasts formed crystalline Earth Law armor around their fists. 122

Herd behavior

Chaos Beasts frequently attack in numbers, making their collective threat much greater than that of an individual specimen. 121 123

• A newly arriving group of several hundred Cosmic Level Chaos Beasts converged on Fang Yi after he killed an earlier group. 121
• Hundreds of high-level Chaos Beasts surrounded eleven injured geniuses after destroying their Spaceship. 121
• A bat-like Domain Lord-level Chaos Beast could attract a vast horde through sound waves. 124

Chaos True Spirits

A Chaos Beast's death produces Chaos True Spirits, which are the primary reason cultivators hunt them outside Chaos City. 121

• They can be absorbed with Telekinetic Power. 121

Story role

Fang Yi first hunted Cosmic Level Chaos Beasts outside Chaos City to test the results of his cultivation and collect Chaos True Spirits. He used the Qilin Step to crush successive groups, including a herd numbering several hundred. 121

Chaos Beasts later surrounded eleven injured geniuses whose Spaceship had been destroyed. Fang Yi intervened, protected the group with the Space-Time Divine Weapon, and eliminated the horde in under a minute. 121

Fang Yi advanced into the Chaos Wilderness middle region and defeated thirteen Domain Lord-level Chaos Beasts alone. He used their battles to test his Law-infused close combat and Spatial Energy Release technique. 122

His sustained hunting established him at the top of Chaos City's newly created Chaos Beast Hunting Leaderboard. His record motivated Luo Feng, Rong Jun, Bolan, and other geniuses to leave Chaos City and compete through their own hunts. 123

A bat-like Chaos Beast's summons caused a major horde to converge on the geniuses. Fang Yi identified the cause, killed the incoming beasts with a Space Secret Technique and the Qilin Step, and eliminated more than four hundred Chaos Beasts before they could surround the group. 124
