The Advancement Tournament used a drawing system. Through lots, teams would decide whether they fought a team battle, an individual battle, or a two-two-three match. Overall, it was the same as the previous competition in the Star Luo Empire.
Because there were still quite a few teams left, they were divided into sixteen groups in total, taking turns to fight and earn points. A win gave three points, a draw gave one point, and a loss gave no points.
In the end, based on points, the two teams with the most points in each group would advance. If the points were the same, there would not be an immediate tiebreaker. Instead, they would first compare the number of net wins. If the net wins were the same, they would compare the total number of remaining team members at the end of all matches. Only if that was still the same would an extra match be held.
In other words, participating teams not only had to consider how to win, but also how to ensure that as many of their members as possible were not eliminated during the process of victory.
