As two thunderous cannon blasts rang out, Jiang Han emerged from the smoke.

Expressionless, she caught the two cannonballs. With a casual glare, she halted the magical transmutation explosion forming within them, turning them into two huge lumps of ice that she casually tossed onto the floor.

"Keep this up and I'm going to get angry."

Her response came from Donna Meyer, standing behind two muzzle-loading cannons in the corridor ahead: a contemptuous spit. Then the wraith lady produced six flintlock pistols as if performing a magic trick. Bang bang bang! She fired six shots at Jiang Han, tossing aside a pistol after every shot.

The magic mixed into the bullets was negligible. To kill Jiang Han with that sort of ammunition, she would probably have to offer no resistance, take twenty or thirty thousand rounds head-on, then die with a full-bellied burp.

Seeing that the bullets could not affect Jiang Han, the wraith lady cursed under her breath and transformed into a shadow, vanishing behind the muzzle-loading cannons.

This wraith witch seemed to possess the kindness toward witches that was common among witches. Simply put, she was wholly committed to the principle of "not lethal, only frightening." Even when using lethal means, she only did so after confirming that Jiang Han "wouldn't be killed by something so trivial." Or rather, her true goal was to "injure" or "drive back" Jiang Han.
