Storm Sea

When Chen Rui arrived at Port Thor dressed in a cloak, the disguised Lucio had already procured a small boat and greased the palms of the harbor guards. They were ready to set sail at any moment.

What surprised Chen Rui was that there was another person aboard—a strange woman. Though her appearance had changed, Chen Rui recognized her at a glance. It was Ina.

Chen Rui glanced at Lucio, who lowered his head in shame.

"It isn't Lucio's fault," Ina said. "Before I met you with Samuel's broken blade, I had secretly left specially prepared tracking green anise on Lucio. I heard about that strange assassination attempt too and had intended to come take a look, but I ran into the disguised Lucio on the way. No matter how he changed his appearance, he couldn't conceal the scent of the green anise. So I followed him all the way here and used that to force him to reveal the destination. So that fellow Samuel actually went to Storm Island! When it comes to the Storm Sea, I know it far better than Lucio does. At the very least, I can cut a quarter off the journey. Don't you need a guide?"

Chen Rui stared into Ina's eyes. "Have you truly thought this through?"

Ina spread her hands. "My father was a merchant. He died after contracting a serious illness, and forced by circumstances, I became a mercenary. I've always regretted being unable to inherit his aspirations. This is just the right opportunity. I've already handed the regiment over to Silva... Before changing careers, I might as well help out a friend."

"A merchant?" Chen Rui studied her for a moment, then suddenly smiled. "All right, Miss Merchant. If you've made up your mind... then I suppose we can set
