Storm Island was far larger than Mist-Hidden Island in the Sea of Death. Unlike the outer waters, where storms raged unchecked, there were no hurricanes near Storm Island, which was shrouded in layers of mist. It was as though the tornadoes formed a barrier encircling the island.
Roar!
The mist carried the sounds of beasts roaring and water being slapped. The roars quickly turned into mournful wails. Ina knew that at least two giant nether serpents were finished. These savage sea beasts, hidden in the mist and feared by adventurers at the mere mention of their name, had run into an even more "savage" Richard. It was nothing short of a tragedy.
Ina and Lucio had become fairly immune to such scenes. Compared to tearing open a tornado with his bare hands earlier, this was child's play.
"There seem to be ships on the shore ahead!" Chen Rui's voice came from the air. "Turn eighteen degrees southeast! Quickly, head over!"
The Mandala swiftly approached. Sure enough, two ships were moored by the shore.
One had been smashed to pieces, apparently attacked by giant nether serpents. The other was relatively intact. There were no living people aboard either vessel, only corpses.
The two ships should have arrived at different times. The corpses on the ship that had arrived first had all been killed by human hands. Judging by their clothing, they were ordinary sailors, and they had been dead for more than a day.
The later ship, the one suspected of having been attacked by nether serpents, should have been Samuel's. Its crew had clearly been killed by sea beasts. From the remaining bloodstains, they had been dead for less than twelve hours. In other words, Samuel had not been ashore for long.
