The priests of the Silent Temple were mostly stubborn by nature. Good was good; if something was not good, they might not say so outright, but it was difficult to make them praise it against their conscience.
After making half a circuit around Castel Cathedral, even a steady and composed Burier like Helena could not bring herself to offer any praise.
The robed clergy merely nodded to one another in greeting, without any solemn rituals. The believers chatted animatedly in the hall, showing not the slightest respect for the cathedral itself.
Those towering Banshees simply passed through the corridors, offering neither salutes nor hymns, as though they were no different from ordinary mortals.
The surrounding walls, halls, and connecting corridors lacked any intricate, thoughtful decorations. There were not even inscriptions from the Holy Scripture, nor were there any statues or paintings of sages and saints within the cathedral.
Instead, pipes of varying thickness could be seen across the ceiling and walls. They had not the slightest sense of sanctity, and there was no telling what they were for.
Simply put, this did not look much like a cathedral.
Helena sighed inwardly.
If it had been left to her, she certainly would not have designed it this way.
If the Church's teachings were not inscribed throughout the cathedral, how were the faithful supposed to memorize the Holy Scripture? If decorations did not lend the cathedral an air of holiness, then how could people possibly feel reverence?
If none of that was present... what was there to unite the faithful? Those pipes? Those machines?
"Everyone, please follow me and take a look at the Stellar Furnace." Nini's voice sounded from nearby.
Only then did Helena perk up somewhat. She had heard the term "Stellar Furnace" many times. It ought to be something
