"How are preparations for the ignition ceremony coming along?"
Theus sat behind his desk, leisurely flipping through the report in his hands.
This was Blood Port. After settling Beatrice's affairs with Zoe, he had hurried here without pause to oversee the work.
Blood Port's chief clerk had originally been Zoe, but Erwin was now acting in her place. Josh would actually have been a better choice, but Theus wanted the Mystic Society to operate independently of Castel's bureaucratic system, so he had not let Josh get too involved.
Besides Erwin, Tata was here as well. He was mainly responsible for the construction of the energy hub, with no shortage of projects needing coordination.
"There's no problem on my end. The energy hub has already been calibrated. Once Bazel moves in, it can operate normally. We left an enormous amount of redundancy this time—there's absolutely no way anything can go wrong." Tata thumped his chest in assurance.
In truth, igniting the Stellar Furnace had not gone entirely smoothly either. They had simply piled enough materials into its construction to leave plenty of room for every possible accident.
Let the Sea God wreak havoc inside the furnace all it wanted. Getting out was impossible.
Theus glanced at Tata. He was quite at ease about this matter. Tata's greatest talent was piling on materials. The new ship he had designed before had forcibly been fitted with a ram, catapults, a flight deck, and machine-gun emplacements. It was a full thousand meters long, leaving a profound impression on Theus.
And Castel's industrial products had stood the test of time. Even the Sea God had been stuffed in and burned. What waves could a mere Bazel possibly stir up?
Theus turned to Erwin. "What about your side?"
"The site has been arranged. The outer perimeter
