From disinfection and surgery to suturing, the whole process took less than two minutes.
Not only were the hired workers stunned, but even the accompanying doctor stood there slack-jawed.
"Th-That's it?"
"Of course. What else?" Nini looked puzzled. "Wasn't the only difficult part of this surgery removing the rebar? All right, since everything's fine now, hurry back. I still need to write my report."
With that, Nini left on her own.
"Th-That's all it took?" Rebecca asked in disbelief. "It was that simple?"
"It wasn't simple at all." The doctor gave a wry smile. "She also drained the fluid and clotted blood from his abdominal cavity. When suturing him up, she stitched each layer of muscle separately. I couldn't have managed all that even if I spent an hour in an operating room."
"She... she's that amazing? She must be an incredible doctor, then?"
"No, she isn't a legendary doctor. She's just an ordinary doctor."
Rebecca's eyes widened. "Then how amazing would a legendary doctor have to be?"
"At the very least, they'd have to know Healing Fountain."
"???"
"All right, let's get back as soon as possible. Returning early is a good thing too—at least we can avoid Castel Syndrome... Vance, don't move around. I'll find you a bed. You just had surgery and need to rest."
Old Vance was still standing there in a daze. After a while, he suddenly let out a shout that startled everyone else.
"What is it?"
"What happened?"
"Father, are you all right?"
Old Vance stared at the people around him in terror. "A monster! There was a monster! A monster with six hands!"
He seized the doctor by the sleeve. "Doctor, did you see it just now? There was a monster!"
The doctor was about to say something, but Rebecca spoke first.
