Deng Yi held the crystal ball, turning it over and over as he examined it. He could not help muttering, "Such a fine crystal ball—what could it be used for?"
After studying the crystal ball for a moment, he looked at Wu, his eyes full of confusion.
Wu seemed to see through Deng Yi's thoughts and slowly said, "This crystal ball is far from ordinary. It can reveal things that normal people find difficult to perceive."
Hearing this, everyone gathered around and stared curiously at the crystal ball.
Wu gently closed his eyes, cradled the crystal ball in both hands, and began to chant under his breath.
In an instant, a faint halo appeared within the crystal ball. The light gradually gathered, forming one blurry image after another.
Everyone held their breath, staring fixedly at the crystal ball, afraid of missing even the smallest detail.
The first image showed a dark forest. The trees were tall and twisted, their branches and leaves tangled together as though whispering endless secrets.
Suddenly, a black shadow flashed past, moving so quickly that no one had time to see it clearly.
Then the image shifted, revealing an ancient castle. Moss covered its walls, its gates were tightly shut, and an aura of mystery hung about it.
"Where is that?" Deng Yi could not help asking.
Wu did not answer. He merely continued focusing on activating the crystal ball.
The image changed again. This time, it showed a vast square packed with people. Their faces were filled with panic as they fled in every direction.
Dark clouds blanketed the sky, and strange beams of light shot down from them, as though they were about to swallow the entire world.
"Could this be... the end of the world?" one of the others said fearfully.
