Background / History

Hai first appears as the vice sect leader hosting his daughter Hai Tianlan's eighteenth-birthday banquet. He prioritizes the celebration's atmosphere, instructing guests to eat and drink before raising business matters. When Lin Chen brings a Skywing Bird with awakened ancestral bloodline, Hai immediately recognizes its danger from prior experience and moves to protect Tianlan. 88

Lin Chen's exposure of the Beast Taming Sect's crimes prevents Hai from being manipulated into supporting that sect. Realizing the value of Lin Chen's information, Hai leads Mysterious Heaven Sect personnel to the Beast Taming Sect, publicly confronts Bai Qionghua, and asks Lin Chen for his judgment on the sect's punishment. 89 93
