Shu Mountain Hall Master

Bai Jing True Person serves as Shu Mountain’s Artifact Refining Hall Master on Sixth Peak. Chen Fan first encounters him as the Yellow-toothed Old Man, a Golden Core cultivator who claims he descended the mountain merely for amusement. He invites Chen Fan for a drink before abruptly leaving when Bald Bird exposes his dishonesty. 88

He becomes fascinated by a damaged Spirit Treasure sphere he discovers during a Shu Mountain sacrificial ceremony. Although he initially does not know its name, Bald Bird identifies it as an Artifact Heart—an object combining talisman techniques and artifact refinement that can turn ordinary materials into Spirit Treasures. 130 131

Bai Jing attempts to recruit Chen Fan into Sixth Peak, offering him access to the Artifact Refining Hall. Chen Fan declines the invitation but remains willing to discuss artifact refinement with him. 131

Pursuit of the Artifact Heart

His obsession with Artifact Hearts drives him to seek Seven-Star Grass and Seven-Star Stone, the principal material for refining them. He trades Chen Fan a swindled human-skin concealment mask in return for help completing the Artifact Heart’s talisman runes. 131 137

After seeing Chen Fan and Bald Bird’s half-finished Artifact Heart, Old Yellow Tooth offers the extremely rare Three-Colored Flower for a chance to inspect it. Old Yellow Tooth accompanies Chen Fan and Bald Bird west in pursuit of a treasure foretold by the Six Paths Jade Disk. He initially feigns illness to avoid the journey, but enthusiastically agrees once Bald Bird promises Artifact Heart instruction and mentions the treasure. 228

During the Deep Sea Dragon Palace expedition, he fights beside Chen Fan against Shu Mountain monks and demonstrates his swordsmanship through numerous sword phantoms. He later recognizes clues to Chen Fan’s identity but keeps them secret. 232 234

Old Yellow Tooth eventually leaves Shu Mountain after swindling the wrong person and becoming the target of retaliation. By this point, he possesses a stolen Void Talisman, one of only two remaining in the world. 600

Inside an Ancient Tomb, he acquires one of the Yin-Yang Keys needed to open a stone gate, evades Shu Mountain pursuers with a concealment talisman, and joins Chen Fan in claiming the treasures behind the gate. Old Yellow Tooth repeatedly aids Chen Fan despite his greed. During the Heaven-Burning Art backlash, he immediately empties a Storage Ring containing over a hundred ancient spirit herbs to sustain Chen Fan. 683

He continues traveling with Chen Fan and Bald Bird while they recover Bald Bird’s scattered souls, investigate Magic Arrays, and prepare to use the Nine Nether Soul-Gathering Array. 680 682 685 689
