Background / History
Medivh founded the Wrynn Family as an independent Pioneer house after leaving the Hobarton Family. Its bloodline and political connections nevertheless trace through the Hobarton and Loran families; its original crest is a Shield of Thorns bearing an hourglass and scroll. 117 236
The original Wrynn Viscount Territory stretched more than 1,600 kilometers from the Winter Mountains’ northern foothills to the Tu River’s south bank. Though it covered over 84,000 square kilometers, it initially held only 1.2 million human subjects, prompting early recruitment and settlement efforts. 118
The family gained Loran City-State noble rights and adopted the Loran-Hobarton-Wrynn noble surname. It subsequently joined the Odyssey City-State Council because its territory lay in the Odyssey Region, then obtained noble status in the war-oriented Lothar City-State. 139 167 275
As its territories and Skeleton Legion expanded, the family shifted from following other city-states in planar wars to leading operations and administering its own colonial holdings. By the Kazma Plane campaigns, it had established the Sorrow Wind Empire and, alongside the Spore Jungle, conquered six Ninth Rank and twelve Eighth Rank planes in five years. 325 462
Territories and Holdings
| Holding | Function and significance |
|---|---|
| Wrynn Territory | The family’s original territorial base; Kurd City and Storm City developed rapidly through skeleton labor and resource production. 154 |
| Ulan City | A skeleton-built city in the Ulan Gobi. The Wrynn Dark Tower’s environmental transformation enabled three to four annual harvests and major grain surpluses. 154 170 |
| Wrynn Manor | A 1,000-square-kilometer Loran City-State holding used chiefly as a staging base for campaigns alongside Loran forces. 198 |
| Sunset City / Blackstone Plane | A fortified frontline holding administered by Anduin; the family’s Sunset Fortress was expanded into a nearly impregnable Nine-Grid District. 193 273 |
| White Shell Ocean | Brought under effective Wrynn control after the family and Dragon Palace Clan blockaded Indigenous Kingdom shipping. 350 |
| Dragon-Scale Plane | An Eighth Rank plane conquered and developed as a dragon habitat, with Dragon Cities and Dragonblood Creature settlements. 441 |
| Sorrow Wind Empire | The Wrynn Family’s foothold in the Ninth Rank Kazma Plane. 462 |

Fortification and Logistics
- Wrynn Dark Tower system — Converts High Tower Castles into Mage Towers, powers block-city defenses, and supports long-range portals through Elemental Energy Pools. 121 276
- Skeleton Engineering Team — Rapidly constructs walls, underground districts, block cities, and fortress infrastructure in active war zones. 193 526
- Block-city doctrine — Modular fortifications allow the family to defend holdings with comparatively few garrison troops and rapidly redeploy its main forces. 383
- Logistics network — The family supplied Loran and allied forces with grain and basic war materials, while its Gale Train network connected trade routes through the Black Mountain Range. 189 348
Alchemical Armaments
- Fierce Lion Magic Rune Armament — Fire-attribute armor supplied to allied knight houses and widely used by Hobarton Third Rank knights. 211 257
- Fire Sparrow Armament — A specialized magic rune armament line originally developed for Audrey. 120 549
- Anti-Air Ballistae and Alchemical Crossbow Carts — Mass-produced ranged weapons sold to allied noble houses and used to halt enemy advances in planar warfare. 144 276
- Raging Flame Origin Crystal Magic Rune Cannons — Block-city castle cannons capable of destroying fortified artillery positions in a single volley. 285
- God-Forged Mecha Legion — The family’s signature late-era war force, combining artillery support, construction capability, and portal-linked block-city deployment. 526
Magical Research
The Wrynn Family maintains an extensive Alchemical Academy of Sciences and a comprehensive mage system supported by Mage Skeletons researching continuously. Its Virtual Network Library preserves magical knowledge recovered through archaeology, leaving it largely independent of external mage inheritances. 549
Household and Succession
Only Medivh’s non-dragon descendants are entered into the family register and may inherit the Wrynn, Hobarton, Loran, and Osman-linked human noble titles. Dragon offspring are excluded from human-title succession. 420
The family’s children govern individual planes and rotate out of offices as younger siblings succeed them, allowing senior members to return to cultivation or assume responsibilities in higher-ranked territories. 441
Audrey serves as the family matriarch, managing internal affairs with the recognition of Medivh’s other high-ranking companions and consorts. 568
