Heart of Hatred

The Yong Kingdom was a long-established power. In its prime years, it once marched north to contend for hegemony with the Jing Kingdom, but unfortunately, it failed and was forced to retreat.

The ambitious ruler who led the Yong Kingdom to its peak was, unluckily, killed in battle on Jing territory, which directly led to the decline of the Yong Kingdom.

That ambitious ruler of the Yong Kingdom was in his prime when he led the expedition himself. Although he had appointed a Crown Prince in advance, he had not delegated much power.

Therefore, something even worse happened.

While he died on the battlefield, the Crown Prince was simultaneously killed within the Eastern Palace.

Immediately following this, the "War of the Three Princes" broke out. The entire country fell into division, with three princes each occupying a region and attacking one another. Zhuang Chenggan, a frontier general in the south at the time, seized the opportunity to secede and established the Zhuang Kingdom across the Qichang Mountain Range.

The Yong Kingdom should have been a behemoth encompassing the Qichang Mountain Range and the three thousand li of land held by the Zhuang Kingdom. If it had been given enough time to consolidate the entire northwest of the Western Border, it might have been able to contend with the great powers of the world once again.

Unfortunately, due to the chaos of the War of the Three Princes and the betrayal of Zhuang Chenggan, those grand ambitions were destroyed in an instant.

Later, the chaos of the three princes was quelled and the Yong Kingdom was reunified, but due to the dire international situation, it was never able to reclaim the lands of the Zhuang Kingdom.

Times have changed, and the Yong Kingdom of today is no longer what it once
