Loki suffered the worst of it. His enormous back was badly burned, reduced to char.

From the back of his head to his heels, he was blackened, trailing white smoke and the smell of roasted meat.

Houka's Soul Insect, the one responsible for opening the Rainbow Gate, had grown so weak it was almost transparent, on the verge of vanishing.

Houka and Rocks had both paid a terrible price to save the enormous Loki.

Rocks had unleashed endless darkness from his hands to hold back the exploding sun and buy them a moment. Both hands were scorched, withered and shriveled.

Houka had to wait until Loki was completely inside the Lost World before he could stop using Devouring Gu. That Soul Fire had taken a crushing amount of damage, and the injury had even reached his main soul.

To keep the nearly vanished Devouring Gu alive, he had exhausted his luck and soul power.

When the three of them fell onto the Lost World's golden plaza, Loki was unconscious from severe burns, and Houka had temporarily lost consciousness from soul exhaustion.

The power of his main soul and eight other Soul Fires had been drained dry, all to preserve the weakened Devouring Soul Fire.

Even Houka's eldest son, Gu Yue Shenwei, who was merged with him, had been drawn on for soul power and had fallen into a coma.

Only Rocks remained barely conscious.

When Shimotsuki Furiko, Stussy and the others in the Lost World saw the three of them in such a wretched state, their faces drained of color.

Tsuru's face was especially pale!

Had they been utterly defeated?
