Background / History
Xiao Zhan is the Clan Head of the Xiao Clan in Wutan City 1 2 5 9 14 16. For three years, he watches helplessly as his son, Xiao Yan, is labeled a "piece of trash" and mocked by others, unable to do anything except worry 2 4. When Nalan Yanran of the Misty Cloud Sect arrives to annul her engagement with Xiao Yan, Xiao Zhan sits in the primary hall and tries to defend the engagement and his son's dignity 1 2.
Following Xiao Yan's sudden and unexpected recovery of power—where he defeats Nalan Yanran and kills the Misty Cloud Sect's deacon Ge Ye, followed by the Fourth Elder—Xiao Zhan steadfastly protects his son against the intense pressure and demands of the Xiao Clan elders who wish to hand Xiao Yan over to appease the sect 2 4 5 9 10 12.
