Background

Gui Mei is Yue Guan's longtime companion and closest confidant. When Yue Guan learned of Lu Fan's chrysanthemum Martial Soul, Gui Mei investigated Flower Grass Village and confirmed that Lu Fan possessed the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. He also persuaded Yue Guan to approach Lu Fan alone rather than forcibly separating him from Flender, recognizing the emotional bond between master and disciple. 21 22

Before joining the Worship Hall, Gui Mei served under two Popes alongside Yue Guan. Lu Fan's criticism of Bibi Dong's treatment of them—particularly their lack of rewards and cultivation opportunities—prompted both men to question their continued loyalty to her faction. 37

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Gui Mei consumed the Underworld Other Shore, an Immortal Herb suited to his Yin- and dark-aligned Martial Soul. The herb restored his body to the appearance of a young child while preserving his cultivation, increasing him to rank 96. 61 64

Gui Mei publicly announced his breakthrough and defected to the Worship Hall, where he was accepted as its Eighth Worshiper. Yue Guan later followed as Ninth Worshiper, keeping the pair together within the same faction. 70 72
