Background / History

Mu Jin arrived after Jiang Yang defeated Zhou Yi and was instructed by the academy dean to handle the aftermath at her discretion. She was shocked by the confrontation but pleased by Zhou Yi’s humiliation, as she had long disliked Zhou Yi and resented Fan Yu’s choice of Zhou Yi over her. 12 23

Following Zhou Yi’s disappearance, Mu Jin replaced her as Freshman Class One’s homeroom teacher. Her arrival ended the class’s indiscriminate iron-vest morning runs, giving students more time for meditation, cultivation, and combat training before the Freshman Assessment. 14

When Freshman Class Nine students later sought transfers after witnessing Jiang Yang’s strength, Mu Jin calmed the crowd, advised them to use the proper Academic Affairs Office process, and redirected attention away from a potential student disturbance. 32 33

Personality

Mu Jin is pragmatic, attentive to her students’ development, and willing to adjust teaching methods around their actual needs. She values practical combat, cultivation efficiency, and tangible rewards over rigid routines. 14 23 25

She recognizes her limits as an instructor: after Jiang Yang defeated a six-ring Soul Emperor while still a three-ring Soul Elder, Mu Jin openly regarded him as beyond her ability to teach conventionally. She therefore treated him with unusual respect and sought his assistance for her class rather than attempting to control him. 23 24

Although generally kind, Mu Jin is firm when students threaten fairness or safety. She warned Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao of academy discipline after their unsanctioned attack on Jiang Yang, prevented Dai Huabin from unilaterally inflating the initial wager, and supported student complaints about Dai Huabin’s malicious gambling scheme. 26 27 29
