A Break
In the year 253 of the Empire, the third and fourth Obelisks were discovered in succession.
That same year, Tuckerau advanced to become a fifth-rank Grand Magus.
The fourth layer of the Magic Net was subsequently completed.
The mages' strength rose to yet another level. Under Iliya's promotion, magic academies spread across the continent. Nobles and commoners alike, humans and orcs alike, all took pride in becoming mages.
A great number of magic apprentices emerged, using the spiritual power gained through meditation to advance the Magic Net's development and completion.
However, the fifth layer of the Magic Net represented the level of "forbidden spells"; it would not be so easily constructed.
By the year 256 of the Empire, a major archaeological breakthrough was made public.
After the efforts of countless people, the mages finally located the insect race's capital—a city submerged beneath shallow seas.
A few days later, two Grand Magi acted together, forcibly parting tens of thousands of tons of seawater and bringing the city, transformed by the passage of time, back into the light.
The emergence of these ruins held immense significance for the construction of the Magic Net.
A full six Obelisks were excavated.
These treasures left behind by the mages directly became the finest guide for constructing the fifth layer of the Magic Net.
Moreover, the mages gleaned some inconceivable magical and alchemical techniques from them.
For example... a floating city!
"Powered by the fifth layer of the Magic Net! Mages can absolutely build a gigantic Mage Tower that flies in the sky... This will be a city belonging only to mages!"
Iliya made this declaration excitedly at the mages' convention, then resolutely put it into action.
By the year 260 of the Empire, the fifth layer of the Magic Net had been established.
