Background / History

Chen Yuan was originally an ordinary young man who collapsed after working overtime, fell to his death, and transmigrated into the Reincarnation World. The Little Genius Smartwatch assigned him the identity of Dr. Chen's son, a NERV member, and Unit-01's sole Compatible Candidate. 190

He began his new life under Yi Sanjiu's supervision, moved into her apartment, and attended Jiangnan City No. 1 High School's Class One after unlocking his First-Order Gene Lock. From the outset, he suspected that NERV, Dr. Chen, and even his own arrival in the desert were tied to a larger hidden plan. 191

The Reincarnation Diary later exposed an earlier life associated with “former Chen Yuan”: he transmigrated to the world, fell in love with Yi Sanjiu, survived the First Impact, worked at a research institute, and became humanity's savior after Yi Sanjiu's death.
