Background / History

Zhuge Rushuang was already an overworked and highly regarded Divine Catcher when a prince assigned her to investigate the massacre of the Black Mountain Gang in Black Lion City. Known for resolving cases swiftly and decisively, she accepted despite her heavy workload and immediately ordered the case resolved within three days. 101

While investigating in the Imperial Palace, she encountered Chen Han in disguise at Hongwen Pavilion. Her mastery of reading people made his unreadable manner and emotionless eyes particularly suspicious to her; when he fled the palace with extraordinary speed, her curiosity became an active investigation. 105 106

After recognizing Chen Han again during the Nine Dragons Gang incident, she attempted to detain him but hesitated because his strength was comparable to her own. She chose to accompany Chen Han into the wilderness to investigate the Demon Python. During the journey, she fought Chu Kingdom assassins, interrogated a captured spy, and assisted in tracking the demonic beast. Although capable against ordinary Exotic Beasts, she was badly outmatched by the Demon Python; she nevertheless saved Chen Han at a critical moment by striking it with a boulder, before Chen Han later rescued her from the beast. 130 131 135 136
