Zhu Qiniang was originally associated with Longevity Hall and Flying Horse Market. Her cultivation of the Primordial Golden Body Art transformed her muscles, bones, viscera, and innate Yin into metal-and-wood power, but left her body rigid and deprived her of most normal sensation. The resulting alienation contributed to her cold, isolated temperament. 27

She became Gao Xian's earliest and most enduring companion. His Lightning Dragon Hand could stimulate nerves her body-refining technique had not completely transformed, while Heavenly Gui Pills gradually restored her alienated physique. She later accepted his help with the Yin Yang Wheel and Heavenly Gui Spirit Pills, which allowed the effects to reach even her organs and bones. 31 101 115
