Wutan City era
The Xiao Clan was one of Wutan City's three major clans and had a longstanding rivalry with the Jia Lie Clan over marketplace control. The Jia Lie Clan proposed a best-of-three arena match restricted to clan members under twenty-two, intending to exploit Jia Lie Ao's strength; the Xiao Clan elders accepted in expectation of Xiao Yan's return from Jia Nan Academy 1 4.
The clan initially faced public humiliation after losing two matches and delaying its final contestant. Xiao Yu entered the arena and defeated Jia Lie Ao with three punches, securing the disputed marketplace for the Xiao Clan 4 8.
The victory enabled the clan to expand its commercial base. Its markets sold affordable and effective Blood-Coagulation Powder, severely damaging Jia Lie Clan business, while later Foundation-Building Spirit Liquid became highly sought after 18 22.
Ascendancy in Wutan City
Jia Lie Clan and Aoba Clan later allied with a third-tier alchemist to attack the Xiao Clan and eliminate its younger generation. A mysterious powerhouse destroyed Jia Lie Bi, Aoba Pa, their elites, and the alchemist; Xiao Zhan then ordered a counterattack that annihilated both rival clans 20 21.
After the campaign, the Xiao Clan seized control of Wutan City's markets and became the city's dominant force outside the City Lord 21 22. Its shops expanded into surrounding cities and towns, though this growth created conflicts with local monopolies and mercenary groups, particularly in Green Mountain Town 23 25.
Xiao Yu's return from the Magical Beast Mountain Range further elevated the clan's standing. He brought the Tier 6 Amethyst Winged Lion King under Xiao Clan control and eliminated the leaders of the Myriad Medicine Pavilion and Wolf Head Mercenary Group 37.
Soul Hall crisis and relocation
The Soul Hall's pursuit of the Ancient Xiao Tribe and the Tou She Ancient God Jade made Wutan City untenable. Following the attack that resulted in Xiao Zhan's capture, Xiao Yu ordered the clan to prepare for an immediate departure 100.
Using Teleportation Arrays, Xiao Yu moved nearly the entire clan from Wutan City to a cave dwelling in the Tagor Desert. Members unable to return from shops elsewhere were left behind temporarily 101. The Soul Hall later investigated the abandoned residence but could not trace the clan because its aura trail was cut off by the spatial formation 104.
At the end of the novel, Xiao Zhan is rescued, and Xiao Yu becomes an Emperor of Fighting powerful enough to protect the clan against the Soul Hall and other major forces 132.
