Background / History

Karin and her mother, Uzumaki Chinatsu, were imprisoned in Kusagakure and exploited for their Uzumaki vitality and chakra. During Iwagakure's covert extraction mission, Karin was frightened of the masked Jingxin but wanted to escape after witnessing Grass ninja repeatedly drain her mother's blood. Jingxin evacuated both mother and daughter from the facility. 16 17

Ōnoki accepted Karin and Chinatsu as Iwagakure citizens, placing them in the house beside Jingxin's. Karin entered the Ninja Academy and pursued ninja training to protect Chinatsu and follow Jingxin's example. 18 20

After two years at the academy, Karin took an early graduation examination at age eleven. She achieved a perfect written score, used her sensory ability to evade Matsumoto Ken's attacks, and restrained him with a simplified Four-Limb Heavy Seal. Personality

Karin begins as a fearful child whose priority is escaping Kusagakure and saving her mother. Her early experiences wandering with Chinatsu and enduring Kusagakure's abuse leave her unusually composed around violence for her age. 17 27
