The opponent gave up halfway through, leaving Jostar visibly displeased. He wanted to goad Silvagon back into the fight, but looking at the creature—a ferocious monster by nature—the sight of it acting this way was unexpectedly cute.
It is common knowledge that one cannot dance alone.
When Jostar grabbed its tail, the massive, hulking beast stopped attacking. Silvagon seemed to grasp something, clutching its tail even tighter, its mouth unconsciously biting down on the tip.
Silvagon's tail was covered in barbs, and its pupil-less, vacant eyes only served to highlight a look of bewilderment, as if it were questioning its own monster existence.
Jostar could only sigh, hands on his hips, as he watched this giant cutie gnawing on its own tail.
Jostar hadn't come to exterminate Silvagon in the first place; he was just out for a sparring session. Since it had lost its will to fight, Jostar wouldn't force the issue.
A sudden idea popped into his head.
Jostar pointed at himself with his index finger, then raised his thumb, before pointing at Silvagon and extending his pinky, using gestures to try and tame the beast.
Silvagon was quite clever; it extended its right claw and mimicked Jostar's movements.
Jostar: "..."
A sharp rap landed on Silvagon's head, and Jostar repeated the gestures once more.
Silvagon clutched the spot where it had been hit, and having roughly understood the meaning, it nodded obediently.
Jostar made a cupping motion, and Silvagon followed suit quite docilely; the movement of those short, stubby arms was unexpectedly adorable.
Seeing such a well-behaved Silvagon, Jostar nodded and transformed into a streak of rainbow light, landing steadily on the monster's upturned palm.
The memory of the previous pain was still fresh, so Silvagon didn't dare close its claw. It held its hand wide open, looking pitiful, hoping not to get hit again for the slightest curl of its fingers.
Although its nearsightedness was quite severe, that didn't mean Silvagon was blind. It carefully lowered its head and placed Jostar near the horn on its crown.
Feeling that Silvagon had no intention of resisting, Jostar stepped lightly onto its head, bracing one hand against its horn and pointing forward with the other.
Much like a pilot operating a mecha, the Silver Dragon Silvagon moved its short legs and began to walk slowly forward, following wherever Jostar pointed.
Even after Jostar ended his transformation and returned to human form, the nearsighted Silvagon remained just as obedient.
Perhaps, to the beast, it couldn't distinguish between the human standing there and Jostar.
Thanks to a unique magnetic field, the age of Shishinohana Forest was impossible to estimate. Covered by the heavy snow of the past few days, the fluffy, crystalline drifts emitted a cold, clear light under the sun.
It possessed a beauty of silence entirely different from the city—provided one ignored the path of destruction carved out by Silvagon.
Zhou Hong imprinted all this scenery into his mind. As Silvagon walked, a pile of automotive scrap metal, which clearly didn't belong in this world, came into view.
These were the remains of travelers who had come seeking thrills or had wandered into this forest by mistake, only to die while failing to find their way out.
Their deaths, in truth, had little to do with Silvagon.
The Power Monster Silver Dragon Silvagon was exactly what its classification suggested; it did not possess the ability to open space-time rifts. The rift here had likely opened by accident.
It was quite far from where the Rainbow Magic Mirror had opened, and moving so many remains would undoubtedly be a dangerous task.
In this space-time rift, Silvagon was not the only monster present.
As for what choices the people at TPC would make, that was beyond his control.
But thinking of Grandma waiting anxiously at home, Zhou Hong still hoped that TPC would choose to conduct a recovery operation.
He patted Silvagon's curved horn and pointed toward the reappearing inverted rainbow; Silvagon understood and began to walk slowly in that direction.
Upon reaching the exit of the Rainbow Magic Mirror, he patted the horn once more. Despite their short time together, Silvagon seemed to share a telepathic connection with Zhou Hong, bowing its body.
It was exceptionally steady, terrified that a tremor might displease the "master" on its head.
When his feet finally touched the ground, Zhou Hong felt he could brag about being a qualified druid.
"Go back, Silvagon." He pointed in the direction from which the beast had come.
Despite being a ferocious monster, it suddenly revealed a faint smile, turning and walking away like a child.
Though its tonnage and the resulting tremors were a bit on the heavy side.
Looking at Silvagon's retreating form, Zhou Hong felt that for a long time to come, it would likely be terrified at the mere sight of a human.
After all, its eyesight was truly its fatal flaw right now.
Judging by the way it plunged forward without looking back, it was likely trying to flee as far as possible from this place that had caused it such grief.
Parting ways with his newly "telepathic" pet, he stepped out of the Rainbow Magic Mirror and looked at the long mountain path, only then suddenly remembering his other mount.
"My motorcycle!" A shrill, miserable scream echoed far and wide through Shishinohana Forest.
Fortunately, it wasn't snowing, but unfortunately, the expanse of Shishinohana Forest was far too vast.
After Zhou Hong had been running for a long time, his communicator finally regained its signal. Without hesitation, he immediately dialed GUTS.
"Hello, is that Daigo?" Zhou Hong said softly. "I encountered a monster near Shishinohana Forest. It's not a battle; it's a containment situation."
"Lock onto my coordinates. The situation in Shishinohana Forest is complicated. You should come over first; it's hard to explain the details in a short time."
Daigo, who understood him well, quickly reported the intelligence to Megumi Iruma. Before long, two fighter jets streaked across the sky.
"Hong, what's going on?" Commander Munakata was the first to disembark.
After listening to the explanation and understanding the situation, Munakata immediately called headquarters to request support.
Personnel arriving via transport planes, carrying all manner of equipment, followed Zhou Hong as he headed toward the Rainbow Magic Mirror.
"As long as you pass beneath the rainbow, you can reach another independent space. There is more than one monster inside, so be careful if you go in."
"What a marvelous place." Daigo trusted Zhou Hong one hundred percent.
"Seal this area off and set up warning signs," Munakata immediately ordered the logistics and ground support units.
"Alright, I'm going back to my vacation." Zhou Hong drove off on the motorcycle he had commandeered from the Guts Wing 2.
"Why does this guy always look so cool, finding a monster and then just leaving?" Shinjoh voiced his envy, jealousy, and resentment.
A certain blockheaded author read the comments asking for character art, thought about asking for a price quote, but upon hearing the starting price of 8,000, promptly rolled right back out.
