Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Million-year soul beast 31 Already possesses million-year cultivation when introduced. Imprisonment beneath the Lake of Life has depleted part of his origin, but he retains substantial reserves.
Sentient million-year soul ring 31 32 The system extracts the original Tian Meng and binds him to Qin Yun’s eye martial soul without backlash or conflict. The fusion unlocks four soul skills, strengthens Qin Yun’s spiritual power, and grants a third martial soul, Ultimate Ice. Qin Yun rises from level ten to seventeen.

Background / History

Tian Meng originated in the Extreme North, where Ice Silkworms occupy the bottom of the soul-beast food chain and commonly serve as prey. According to his account, the first nine hundred thousand years of his life were spent almost entirely asleep. He developed his cunning later through dealings with powerful soul beasts in the Star Dou Forest 45 50.

The Ice Empress repeatedly pursued him to devour his energy. Fleeing her, he drifted south by sea; he later recounts ninety thousand years of misfortune to her. Eventually, Di Tian and the other fierce beasts sealed him beneath the Lake of Life and continuously drained his origin as a cultivation resource, keeping him in a perpetual daze 31 32 49.

Appearance

Tian Meng’s original form is a plump, snow-white silkworm. Within Qin Yun’s sea of consciousness, he appears as a chubby silkworm surrounded by a faint blue halo; in the Extreme North, he manifests a golden human-shaped spiritual form resembling Qin Yun 31 32 46.

  • Ice-crystal fuzz: Stands on end when he is frightened 32.
  • Original body size: Larger than the Ice Empress’s approximately 1.5-meter-long body 48.
  • Soul-ring disguise: Usually appears white with an icy-blue halo, superficially resembling a ten-year ring 31.
  • True soul-ring color: Brilliant gold, revealed when he releases his power to lure the Ice Empress 46.

Personality

Tian Meng is boastful when he feels safe but quickly becomes deferential before overwhelming power. He initially tells Qin Yun to follow him as a senior, only to abandon that posture after sensing the Golden Dragon King and recognizing the Golden Dragon Spear. His fear of the Snow Empress likewise overwhelms his confidence when she interrupts his negotiations 32 51.

His attachment to the Ice Empress is obsessive and unrequited. He persists despite her threats to eat him, then traps her and combines promises of eternal life with threats of destruction to obtain her cooperation. Qin Yun views his romantic behavior with amusement and disapproval 47 48 50.

Self-preservation does not entirely override his concern for Qin Yun. He offers to take over Qin Yun’s body against a dangerous tiger and later urges him to escape the Snow Empress, despite knowing that being left behind would probably mean his own destruction. Qin Yun’s refusal to abandon him becomes an important reassurance about their partnership 33 52.

Abilities & Skills

Spiritual Power and Manifestation

  • Exceptional spiritual reserves: His full detection field covers at least one-third of the Extreme North’s core region during the Ice Empress operation 46.
  • Spiritual manifestation: Condenses nine clusters of golden light into a human-shaped form resembling Qin Yun. He later explains that this is his spiritual origin, not merely a projection concealing a nearby body 46 48.
  • Aura imitation: Simulates the Snow Empress’s aura to keep unrelated soul beasts away while exposing his presence to the Ice Empress 46.
  • Concealment: Combines spiritual masking with his molt to make Qin Yun virtually indistinguishable from the surrounding snow, deceiving the Titan Snow Demon King 45.
  • Protective field: Shields Qin Yun from the Ice Empress’s sonic disturbance. Her subsequent pressure reduces his protected area from roughly one hundred meters to ten meters 47.
  • Detection limits: The Titan Snow Demon King initially shields itself from his perception; Tian Meng detects it only after it approaches sufficiently close 45.

Spirit Detection

  • Provides reconnaissance, penetrating perception, and detailed analysis through Qin Yun’s eye martial soul 31.
  • Its range increases with the user’s strength 31.
  • Focusing on a single point extends detection distance at the cost of greater soul-power consumption 31.
  • Tian Meng’s sensory ability helps Qin Yun search the waterfalls behind Holy Soul Village for the Blue Silver Emperor’s hiding place 38.

Spirit Sharing

  • Links designated targets through spiritual power to share sight, hearing, and spiritual perception 31.
  • Transmits thoughts and real-time instructions, supporting coordinated team combat within the spiritual coverage area 31.

Spirit Interference

  • Disturbs a target’s mental state and causes attacks to deviate 31.
  • The system states that it upgrades into Spirit Interference Domain after consuming Full Moon Wearing Autumn Dew and reaching the tangible-but-formless spiritual realm. This upgrade is not shown in the supplied chapters 31.

Soul Shock

  • Inflicts heavy spiritual damage on an enemy 31.
  • Risks backlash if the opponent’s spiritual power exceeds the user’s 31.
  • Combining it with the Tang Sect’s Purple Demon Eye can double its power 31.
  • Qin Yun uses it alongside the Golden Dragon Spear against a five-thousand-year Flame-Patterned Mountain-Splitting Tiger 33.

Body Possession and Combat Support

  • Can request control of Qin Yun’s body to fight directly; Qin Yun declines his offer against the five-thousand-year tiger 33.
  • Despite his poor combat aptitude relative to his million-year cultivation, the narration places his retained strength around that of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast or an ordinary Titled Douluo 33.
  • Helps Qin Yun block Tang Hao’s first attack. The resulting “Sky Dream Finger” leaves him somewhat weakened afterward 39 41.
  • Admits that even at his prime he could not survive a direct encounter with the Titan Snow Demon King 45.

Intelligent Sacrifice

  • Has spent tens of thousands of years calculating how a soul beast can sacrifice itself while retaining its consciousness 54.
  • Guides the Snow Empress’s sacrifice with his origin power, preventing the loss of intelligence normally associated with the process 54.
  • Uses his spiritual foundation to refine her origin and complete her cultivation to seven hundred thousand years 54.
  • Provides four soul skills but no soul bone when becoming Qin Yun’s ring 50.

Equipment / Items

  • Sky Dream Molt — The physical shell shed during his million-year cultivation. It protects Qin Yun against the Extreme North’s cold and conceals his aura 41.
  • Molt cage — Tian Meng manipulates the same shell into a prison for the Ice Empress, using a brief spiritual restraint to secure her inside it. Retracting the molt for this operation temporarily removes Qin Yun’s cold protection 46 48.

God Creation Plan

Aspect Details
Objective Help Qin Yun become a god, then share his endless lifespan as a sentient soul ring rather than independently attaining godhood 50.
Reason for choosing Qin Yun Tian Meng considers the six-year-old Qin Yun the most talented human he has encountered, with foundations sufficient to support the plan 50.
Claimed success rate Initially claims at least a 70% chance with his own assistance. Recruiting the Ice Empress raises the proposed estimate to 80–90%; these are predictions, not achieved results 50.
Ice Empress’s intended role Complement Tian Meng’s essence, strengthen Qin Yun’s Ultimate Ice, and accompany him into the God Realm 32.
Personal motive Eternal survival, a future with the Ice Empress, and the possibility of revenge against Di Tian 32 48.
Recruitment methods Appeals to the Ice Empress’s fear of future tribulation, recounts his suffering, and threatens to kill her for a non-sentient ring if she refuses 47 49 50.
Major limitation Tian Meng acknowledges that his weak offensive aptitude cannot provide Qin Yun with enough protection by itself 50.

Relationships

  • Qin Yun — Host and partner. Tian Meng calls him “Big Brother” after his initial attempt to assert seniority fails. Qin Yun accepts his guidance but refuses to surrender control unnecessarily or abandon him to the Snow Empress 32 33 52.
  • Ice Empress / Ice Jade Empress Scorpion — Long-standing object of his unrequited love and a natural predator of his species. He traps her to recruit her into the God Creation plan; she becomes interested in the proposal without reciprocating his affection 47 48 49 50 54.
  • Snow Empress — Feared sovereign whose aura he impersonates during his trap. Her arrival nearly derails his plan, but she ultimately accepts Qin Yun and undergoes an intelligent sacrifice with Tian Meng’s assistance 46 51 54.
  • Di Tian — Former captor who drained his origin beneath the Lake of Life. Tian Meng hopes Qin Yun’s eventual strength will enable revenge 31 32.
  • Bi Ji, King of Ten Thousand Demons, Scarlet King, and Lord Bear — Fierce beasts associated with his captivity and exploitation. They are present when the system removes him from the lake 31.
  • Titan Snow Demon King — An overwhelming threat whom Tian Meng avoids through concealment rather than combat 45.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Extraction and Binding

Qin Yun obtains Tian Meng through a targeted system lottery after Wang Sheng’s cultivation breakthrough completes a mission associated with Huo Yuhao. Rather than creating a copy, the system tears the original silkworm from the Lake of Life, throwing the core of the Star Dou Forest into chaos. He then merges directly into Qin Yun’s eyes as his first soul ring 31 32.

Early Support

After meeting Qin Yun in his sea of consciousness, Tian Meng begins planning their route toward godhood. He offers combat assistance against the five-thousand-year tiger, provides sensory support during the search for the Blue Silver Emperor, and helps Qin Yun survive Tang Hao’s opening attack 32 33 38 39.

Return to the Extreme North

Eager to reunite with the Ice Empress, Tian Meng supplies his molt and guides Qin Yun north. After concealing them from the Titan Snow Demon King, he stages a lure using his own presence and the Snow Empress’s simulated aura. Once the Ice Empress approaches, he restrains her and presents the God Creation plan 41 44 45 46 48 49.

Snow Empress’s Intervention

The Snow Empress arrives before the Ice Empress completes her agreement. Tian Meng initially urges flight, then recommends that Qin Yun accept survival at the cost of leaving him behind. Qin Yun instead takes the Snow Empress’s combat trial. After she acknowledges his qualifications, Tian Meng guides her sacrifice, preserving her consciousness and helping reforge Qin Yun’s Ultimate Ice into a Snow Empress-form martial soul 50 51 52 54.
