The two stopped at a somewhat secluded stall.
There were no extra sundries here, only a few divine artifacts with condensed auras quietly displayed. What attracted Adele was the vine armor in the center of the stall.
It was impossible to tell what material it was made from. It was a faint blue-green color all over, and a life aura that was about to overflow lingered on its surface. It was gentle yet tough, and it resonated faintly with her recently attained Life Law, making it a divine artifact perfect for her.
The stall owner was a man who looked middle-aged, with a somewhat roguish expression. He exuded a faint aura of a Midgod, but he wasn't overbearing. Seeing Barn and Adele approach, he merely raised his eyes slightly: "There was a war among the Five Royal Cities a while ago. This batch is spoils of war captured from the Evil Royal City. Feel free to look if anything catches your eye."
"Evil Royal City?" Adele was a little surprised. As she gently stroked the vine armor, feeling the pure life force within, she asked, "I recall that place is mostly inhabited by cultivators of Darkness and Death attributes. There aren't many gods who primarily cultivate the Life Law, are there?"
Her fingertips lightly traced the texture of the vine armor, and she had already confirmed that this was a top-grade Lowgod divine artifact, with excellent defensive and self-healing capabilities.
The middle-aged stall owner chuckled lightly, his tone casual: "The Evil Royal City and the Wither-Bloom Royal City to the south are allies. The Wither-Bloom Royal City has many elves, so it's not strange to see cultivators of the Life Law. This vine armor was stripped from an elf god. Its material is very strange; it didn't break even when I attacked it head-on. I only managed to kill him with a soul attack in the end."
"The Life Law is inherently good at defense and self-healing. Being able to withstand an attack from a Midgod isn't that astonishing," Adele said, subtly lowering the price, her tone indifferent, as if the vine armor were just ordinary goods.
The stall owner didn't beat around the bush and laid his cards on the table: "I don't haggle with you. I only accept Lowgod Godheads. One Lowgod Godhead of any attribute can be exchanged for five of my Lowgod divine artifacts, or one Midgod divine artifact."
Barn and Adele exchanged glances, both seeing a hint of hesitation in each other's eyes.
In a plane prison like Gobada, Godheads were the most valuable and scarce resource. Countless Sanctuary experts yearned for a Godhead their entire lives, hoping to ascend in one step and escape their lowly fate. Truly, only one in ten thousand could persevere and comprehend laws to become a god on their own.
However, exchanging a Lowgod Godhead for five divine artifacts they couldn't use seemed like a bad deal.
"Don't look at me like that. I'm not a black-hearted merchant." The stall owner casually gestured, neatly displaying five Lowgod divine artifacts: a staff, a long sword, a short club, a robe, and the vine armor. Each one was filled with divine power and made of excellent material. "Each is a masterpiece. Five for one Godhead, you're not losing out."
Barn's gaze swept over them, and he nodded inwardly. The quality of these divine artifacts was indeed not bad, but unfortunately, most of their attributes didn't suit him.
"Senior's strength is formidable. It's truly admirable that you could acquire so many spoils of war during the conflict among the Royal Cities," Barn said, trying to ease the atmosphere.
The middle-aged man didn't fall for it. He waved his hand, his tone somewhat impatient: "Cut the flattery. Are you buying or not? Give me a straight answer."
Barn no longer beat around the bush and directly stated his purpose: "The items are indeed good, but besides this vine armor, we have no use for the others. I'd like to ask, do you have any water-attribute or fate-attribute defensive divine artifacts?"
He had already decided to fight by merging his main body, his Water Clone, and his Fate Clone. The Mist Hidden Spear was incredibly sharp, and he didn't need to replace his offensive divine artifact in the short term. The most pressing matter now was to shore up his defensive shortcomings.
The stall owner glanced at Barn and nodded: "I do have a Fate Law defensive divine artifact, but it's not a Lowgod one. It's a Midgod divine artifact."
As he spoke, he flipped his palm slightly, and a suit of armor with a bright silver surface and golden trim appeared out of thin air.
It was a complete set of medieval-style full plate armor, including chest plate, pauldrons, greaves, gauntlets, and sabatons. It even had a full-face helmet. The overall lines were smooth, and the surface of the armor was engraved with fine golden patterns resembling water ripples, exuding mysterious Fate Divine Power.
Barn reached out and gently touched it. The material clearly did not belong to Gobada.
"Does Gobada have this kind of metal?"
The stall owner shook his head, his tone carrying a hint of ancient memory: "This isn't from here. I obtained this armor by chance ten thousand years ago. During that period, a large number of top powerhouses from various planes suddenly flooded into Gobada. The Ice Prison King also truly rose to prominence around that time. It is said that this armor came from the Celestial Realm."
The speaker was unintentional, but the listener was attentive.
Barn's heart skipped a beat, and he silently committed this information to memory. The Celestial Realm, one of the four supreme planes, and yet he was seeing an armor from the Celestial Realm in Gobada.
Without further hesitation, Barn directly took out a Godhead that was completely black and exuded a dark aura.
"How about this Dark Lowgod Godhead for your Midgod divine artifact?"
The stall owner's gaze fell upon the Godhead, and he nodded slightly: "One Lowgod Godhead for one Midgod divine artifact. That's fair."
If this were in a supreme plane, a Lowgod Godhead would definitely not be worth a Midgod divine artifact. However, in Gobada, the value of a Lowgod Godhead that could help someone break through to the God level was far greater than in the supreme planes.
"Wait!" Adele immediately spoke up, pointing at the Life Vine Armor. "Senior, and this vine armor! There aren't many gods cultivating the Fate Law in Gobada. Although your divine artifact is of high quality, it might not necessarily find a buyer willing to pay a high price. As for this Godhead, you can have a trusted subordinate refine it, and then you can forge as many divine artifacts as you want, without losing out!"
"These two divine artifacts, both in terms of material and quality, are top-notch. Exchanging them for one Godhead is too much of a loss for me," the stall owner frowned, his attitude extremely firm. "Many people in the Royal City have been selling Godheads recently, so I don't lack buyers. It's a fixed price. If you want it, fine. If not, then forget it."
Seeing this, Barn knew that further bargaining would be futile. He made a decisive move and took off the Wind-attribute divine artifact chainmail he was wearing, casually deactivating its master recognition:
"This is a Wind-attribute Lowgod divine artifact of average quality. I'll use it to make up the price difference. I'll use this Godhead, along with this chainmail, to exchange for your two items—the Life Vine Armor and this Fate Law Midgod armor."
The stall owner stared at the Wind-attribute chainmail for a moment, then at the Godhead in Barn's hand. After a moment of silence, he finally nodded: "Deal."
--
After leaving the trading post, Barn immediately dripped blood on the full plate armor exuding Fate Divine Power to recognize it as his master.
With a flash of light, the armor instantly covered his entire body. He casually pulled down the visor of the helmet, and he immediately looked like a silent and stern knight, his aura steady and solemn.
Although gods do not see with their naked eyes, the observation holes on the helmet were still too narrow, making him very uncomfortable. Barn gently activated his mental connection and slightly modified the structure of the divine artifact, and his vision immediately became much clearer.
Adele, standing beside him, had also put on the Life Vine Armor.
The blue-green vine armor fit her figure perfectly, blending seamlessly with the life divine power around her. Her entire demeanor became even more gentle and soft, and her eyes were filled with affection.
As Barn adapted to the armor, he asked casually, "Did that stall owner just say that the Ice Prison King came to Gobada ten thousand years ago?"
Adele did not hide anything and nodded: "Yes, this is not a secret. Ten thousand years ago, a world-shattering event occurred on the Yulan Continent outside. Countless powerhouses from the four supreme planes and seven divine planes poured in madly. But who knows what terrifying existence appeared on the Yulan Continent that managed to capture them all? Some of these powerhouses were then exiled to Gobada."
The passersby around them heard this conversation without any change in their expressions, indicating that it was not some secret information.
"The Ice Prison King was one of those powerhouses," Adele continued. "Many of the veteran powerhouses in our Ice Prison Royal City were trapped here after that battle. As for the name 'Ice Prison Royal City,' it was renamed by her after she killed the previous king and took her place."
Barn nodded slightly and asked again, "You are already over ten thousand years old. You must have witnessed the battle for the succession of the Royal City Lord back then, right?"
Adele nodded gently, her eyes slightly dazed: "Yes, I saw it from afar once. I was just a Sanctuary expert back then. My father had recorded the battle projection, but later my father died in battle, and those projections were lost."
Seeing her mood turn somber, Barn didn't ask any further questions.
The two walked forward in silence, passing through an open area, and gradually approached the edge of the Royal City.
From a distance, a colossal, immense pit was sunken into the ground, like the gaping maw of a giant beast. The pit walls were covered with dense battle scars, and violent divine power fluctuations continuously surged up from the pit, faintly mixed with roars and rumbling.
Adele stopped and looked at the pit, saying softly:
"This is the Colosseum."
