History

Nine-Tails Incident and Root expansion

Obito’s release of the Nine-Tails devastated Konoha, killing the Fourth Hokage, Kushina Uzumaki, numerous elite ninja, and civilians while destroying large sections of the village. Kimura Takuya’s family was among the casualties. 2

The village’s loss of its strongest defenders weakened the Hokage faction. Danzō used the resulting instability to expand Root, recruiting civilian orphans from the Konoha Orphanage for covert training. 2

Tsunade’s accession and internal reforms

Tsunade accepted the position of Fifth Hokage in order to protect Kimura Takuya from having his techniques classified as forbidden and his memories erased. Her inauguration followed shortly afterward. 18 28

After Danzō’s death, Root was disbanded and the Anbu underwent reorganization. 45 Under Itachi Uchiha’s leadership, the Konoha Military Police Force changed from an exclusively Uchiha institution into a stable force staffed largely by civilian ninja. 99

Itachi also worked to repair relations between the Uchiha clan and the wider village. By Madara Uchiha’s return, Uchiha clansmen were living harmoniously with other residents, and Itachi was recognized as the legitimate clan head. 235

Rise of Konoha’s military strength

Kimura Takuya’s medical treatment, resurrection techniques, ninja tools, and combat innovations rapidly expanded Konoha’s capabilities. The village acquired the Wings of Kagerou, a chakra-efficient tool that provides flight, attack, defense, and control functions even to lower-ranked ninja. 99

Konoha also implemented Resurrection Jutsu insurance for its citizens. During Kabuto’s assault using Impure World Reincarnation, the policy protected residents from permanent casualties while Konoha’s elite sealed the invading revived ninja. 126

The village began resurrecting fallen heroes according to merit, using the souls of captured criminals as a resource. Tsunade prioritized the revival of Konoha’s distinguished dead, including her younger brother Nawaki. 102 104

Konoha’s accumulation of revived legendary ninja and powerful active defenders became a major deterrent. Even after awakening new Rinnegan abilities, Obito considered a direct attack on Konoha too dangerous. 206

Relocation and unification

Konoha supported Kimura Takuya’s plan to unite the Ninja World against the future Otsutsuki threat. The proposal envisioned a shared City of Ninjas where the specialties of all five major villages could develop together. 236 240

Konoha, Sunagakure, Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure were relocated to the new city through a combined Flying Thunder God Formation performed by Kimura Takuya, Tobirama Senju, and Minato Namikaze. The transfer took less than an hour. 244

The new settlement was named Three-Day City, after its construction time. Kimura Takuya was named Konoha’s Sixth Hokage before becoming the first Ninja Chief of the Ninja United Government. 244

From Three-Day City, the unified ninja forces conquered the surrounding small nations and then the four great nations outside the Land of Fire. Within eight months, nearly the entire Ninja World had been unified under Three-Day City’s rule. 257

• Konoha has a population of more than 100,000 and tens of thousands of ninja, making it one of the Ninja World’s largest and most developed settlements. 1 10
• Its population includes numerous bloodline and secret-technique clans, including the Uchiha, Hyuga, Kurama, Yuhi, Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi clans. 10 11 20
• The Ninja Academy’s graduation process includes examinations in ninja common knowledge, the Will of Fire, and taijutsu. 1
• Konoha Hospital recognized Kimura Takuya’s exceptional chakra control and medical aptitude, recommending him for Ninja Academy enrollment. 2
• Civilian genin generally possess far less chakra than clan heirs, making chakra-efficient equipment such as the Wings of Kagerou especially valuable to Konoha’s regular forces. 99
• Konoha’s open-air training grounds provide free training space for civilian ninja, who often lack the private facilities available to clan members. 211
