Background / History

Shrek Academy began as a highly selective “Monster Academy” that accepted few students and graduated even fewer. Ten thousand years ago, Tang San and the other Shrek Seven Devils enrolled there, later defeating the Martial Soul Hall Academy in the Soul Master Tournament; this victory established Shrek’s reputation as the continent’s foremost academy. 4

During the war following the collision of the Sun Moon Continent and Douluo Continent, the Douluo Three Kingdoms’ coalition was initially outmatched by the Sun Moon Empire’s Soul Tool forces. A Shrek headmaster gathered nearly sixty Title Douluo from across the continent, who assumed command and defeated the Sun Moon Empire. 4 74

Following that war, Shrek became an independent institution outside any national administration. It gained continent-wide prestige, was regarded as a holy land for soul masters, and acquired the authority to monitor the continent and pursue Evil Soul Masters. 4

Tang Ya identifies Shrek’s rise after the war as a contributing factor in the Tang Sect’s decline, as talent increasingly preferred Shrek over the weakened sect. 4

Tournament Delegation
