Tang San carries memories and techniques from a previous life connected to the Tang Sect. His unfamiliar knowledge, hidden weapons, and maturity beyond his apparent age later cause Yu Xiaogang and the Shrek group to question the origin of his soul. 44 48

Ah Yin identifies Tang San's soul as different from that of her original child. She regards him as a reincarnated outsider who occupied the body meant for her son and stole that child's life, while Tang San initially has no understanding of her hatred. 39 40 42

The revelation devastates Tang San. He had believed that his present life gave him a father, mother, and companions after a lonely former life; Ah Yin's rejection instead leaves him questioning whether he has any right to call himself Tang San. Blue Silver Academy Challenge

After Ning Rongrong leaves Shrek, Tang San encourages the Shrek group to challenge Blue Silver Academy. He intends not merely to prove Shrek's superiority, but to eventually absorb Blue Silver Academy into Shrek's sphere of influence. 31

At the academy, Tang San confronts Ning Rongrong and Dugu Yan with both of his domains and a Blue Silver Prison–Parasite combination. Chen Xuan ends the conflict by suppressing Tang San's Blue Silver Grass and domain without directly fighting him. 34 35

Conflict with Ah Yin

Tang San senses an inexplicable attachment to Ah Yin upon meeting her, and Chen Xuan tells Ah Yin that Tang San is her son. Ah Yin subsequently learns that his soul is not her true child's soul and develops profound hatred for him. 35 36 39

In their individual match, Tang San's Blue Silver Grass techniques fail completely against Ah Yin's golden Blue Silver Grass. She breaks his Blue Silver Prison, defeats him without being touched, and forces him to concede after revealing that she believes he stole her child's life. 40 41 42

Shrek's Defeat

Tang San enters the team battle despite his mental collapse. Dugu Yan targets him specifically, petrifies him, suppresses his Blue Silver Grass with Jade Phosphorous Emperor Poison, and destroys most of his Eight Spider Lances. 45 46

Shrek forfeits after Tang San is left unconscious and severely wounded. The defeat shatters his confidence in his martial soul, his control techniques, and the path he had believed would make him strong. 46 47 48

Pursuit of Revenge

After Zhu Zhuqing's departure and Shrek's humiliation, Tang San joins Dai Mubai, Xiao Wu, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun in swearing to become stronger and eventually exact revenge on Blue Silver Academy. 70 72

When Chen Xuan attacks Shrek, Tang San watches his allies fall and retaliates with his Tang Sect hidden weapons. Chen Xuan freezes the entire barrage, sends it back at Tang San, and dismisses the Tang Sect arts as “child's toys.” 99 100

Yu Xiaogang sacrifices himself so Tang San can escape through poison smoke. Chen Xuan deliberately allows the escape, intending to crush Tang San again after he has cultivated further. 101

Death

While fleeing Heaven Dou City, Tang San is crushed by Chen Xuan's revealed divine authority but continues to vow revenge. 103

Chen Xuan intercepts him in the wilderness. Tang San unleashes Rain of Flowers and charges with the Eight Spider Lances, but Chen Xuan stops every weapon, breaks the lances, pins Tang San with his own projectiles, and erases his body and soul from existence. 104
