I'm sorry. I broke my word.

Before I knew it, this was already the third book I'd dropped in a row on this account.

This book actually performed very well early on. It hit a thousand heat on its first day, and its peak of over 1,300 heat spoke for itself when it came to the value of a Douluo story.

With daily updates of 4,000 words, the income was comparable to a premium novel on Qidian.

But when the heat fell to 900, I panicked. Because I listened to readers' suggestions, I ended up writing God of Fire off the rails for the first time.

My reaction at the time was to drop the book, around the 80,000-word mark. That was the first time I wanted to quit.

Later, my editor talked me out of it, so I tried to save it and barely managed to revive it.

The second time I wanted to quit was when the heat dropped to 700. The God Realm arc had only just begun, and by then I could no longer get a handle on the pacing.

The third time I wanted to quit was now...

The heat had stabilized at just over 500...

Over 500 heat was already pretty good, but after I took a day off, everything that followed went downhill.

Because the heat kept falling, I actually wanted to write two books at once. In my heart, I had already given up on this God of Fire story. I kept thinking up a new book and considering all sorts of genres. Everyone in the group knew that, so I became less and less serious about writing this one.
